Woman’s Rucksack for SAHM

HannahS99 · 06/05/2021 14:15

I’m looking for a rucksack that I can use everyday, something stylish/pretty but needs to hold toddlers clothes/snacks and all the general kids stuff my older kids want to bring on a day out like picnic lunch etc.

Oh and maybe a small pocket for my own cards/keys!

What’s a good bag for an almost 40 year old SAHM? Thanks

Another vote for Mia tui - I'm not their PR either!

I cant use regular bags & have shopped around for backpacks for ages, but always go back to them. The Sydney backpack is a decent size to carry kids stuff around.

North Face maybe?

@Wegobshite

@ RainedOn If that post was at me feel free to check with MNHQ I’ve been on this site for years probably 2014 maybe longer than that I name change every so often like many do but I’m sure they they could confirm that I’m nothing to do with them .

I don’t work for Mia Tui but I do have a few of their bags along with numerous other bags .
OP asked for a rucksack around for £50 one that was suitable for taking lots of stuff for kids and a few of her own bits and pieces .
So I gave her a recommendation for one it fits within her price range and might be suitable as I have a few of them .
But If I did work for Mia Tui I would be a damm site better at PR 😂

Sorry. Blush Honestly, if you don't work for them they should be paying you commission as you (or someone) are so positive about them!

My daughter has this www.amazon.co.uk/Lekesky-Rucksack-Computer-Backpack-Business-Grey/dp/B07L8792Q9/ref=sr_1_87?dchild=1&keywords=amazon+rucksack&hvdev=t&hvadid=80676698174100&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1620386538&sr=8-87 it looks much more expensive and is roomy enough to put a child's change of clothes, her son is 4.

Another thing to think of is that the bag is light itself; before you put stuff in it. Some things can look lovely, but you'd end up hauling unnecessary weight around the place if the material is too thick and heavy. You want strong but light.

Cailleach1 · 07/05/2021 12:37

The anti-theft pocked directly against your back is a good feature on that one.

Another vote for Mai tui,

My DD has a (fake) Kanken one. Lots of teenage girls around our way have them (dont know if the others are fake or genuine!!) But I wouldnt say they were synonymous with teens!

HappyWipings · 07/05/2021 17:46

It's not the prettiest , but I have a dakine garden 20 litre backpack. It is super comfortable and has a sunglasses pocket plus many others.

AlwaysLatte · 07/05/2021 17:49

I have a kath kidston one, although I feel bad when it gets heavy and my husband carries it for me 😂

Luuby86 · 07/05/2021 18:04

Doughnut macaroon. Over budget but I’ve never seen so many pockets and compartments in a backpack!

Lovely selection here

I bought a Nordace Ellie backpack, absolutely brilliant - holds lots of stuff, loads of pockets to keep things tidy. I bought it for eventually returning to work and it’s perfect.
