If you are mid 40’s please could you tell me what make up you wear?

I’m 45 and want to rethink my make up as what I have isn’t doing anything for me. My skin is clear quite dry. I’ve always had dark bits under my eyes & on the lids. I use clarins concealer which I like but am finding its starting to emphasise the creases on my eyelids. I’d like to emphasise my eyes more but don’t know how to avoid the creased look.

Please could anyone share what products they use? Just want to look fairly natural & healthy.

I wear only tinted moisturiser or very light foundation. Boots number 7 have good products for my skin. I also like Trinny eye shadows for more mature skin.

I use a facial oil which has done wonders for smoothing my skin. Then a bb cream on top of my moisturiser, my current favourite is Pixi h20 skin tint because it’s cruelty free, unlike Clarins which is tested on animals.

Following with interest! I've always used Yves Saint Laurent touche éclat foundation. Haven't worn it for the last two years (pregnant and ill then lockdown) went to put it on yesterday and it looks awful on me. Too heavy. Aging.

I'm 43 and I've found working on my skin means I need a lot less makeup, and when I do put it in it looks much better.

If you're skin is dry then you probably need to adjust your skincare. Go for thalidomide acid and something plumping.

Hyaluronic acid sorry!

I use the Veil concealer/illuminating pen.

For other makeup I’m slowly transitioning to Hourglass products and am a particular fan of the Dim light finishing powder and the tubing mascara

I like this for under eyes. Use sparingly and blend/pat into skin.

I'm 42, I find that foundation or concealer can be quite aging unless I use it very sparingly. Agree with PP that you'd be better to focus on good skincare so you don't feel the need for skin make up, it's very tricky to get right with fine lines etc.

I'm 48 and use....
The ordinary serum foundation
Trinny London miracle blur
EL eye liner
Lancôme mascara
Clinique chubby stick on lips and cheeks

Good skincare is key here, so tackle that first to give the best possible base. I then use Glossier perfecting skin tint, which is very sheer and glowy, plus Cloudpaint cream blusher applied with a brush, then do brows with a Charlotte Tilbury pencil, topped with some Glossier boybrow, I use a black liner to tightline the upper eyelid (MASSIVE difference to lining above the lash line), curl lashes and apply mascara. Takes 5 mins or less and it's a big improvement on the makeup I used to do, which involved more steps and took longer.

I recently bought the Trinny BFF eye (concealer and serum in one) as it had rave reviews but unfortunately it looks dried and creased on my under eye area after a few hours so I won't be repurchasing.

Estée Lauder Double Wear has been my favourite foundation for years (you need ample moisturiser underneath)
