DUVET COAT?

deeeja · 14/11/2007 16:31

Shall I buy the padded coat from kew?
Brrrr it is so cold!
I keep looking at it and putting it in and out of my basket.
I am sahm, so don't need to look smart. I have a smart coat anyway. It is not warm enough.
Will it make me look too big. I am a size 14 and 5ft 7. Will I look like a heifer?
It looks so warm.
What do you think?

The ones from Gap are good, and they reduce them every year around Xmas.

claricebeansmum · 14/11/2007 16:54

That is shapeless and hideous
Step away from the online shop

DarrellRivers · 14/11/2007 16:55

I have been tempted this year, BUT, suspect I will look like heifer if buy one.
They don't really suit many people/you will look like a duvet

I avoided maxi dresses too and was right about that

MrsBadger · 14/11/2007 21:43

heifer
also v pricey imo - better to wait for Land's End sale
this will be £70 eventually

deeeja · 15/11/2007 09:01

Thanks Mrs Badger!
Is it wrong tha I love everything on that website?
That is the coat for me!
But I can't wait for the sale.

It is a good site for coats and their cashmere is pretty good too but their tshirts etc are all cut too baggy and too high necked (very soccer mom) hence look frumpy on.
Don't even think about the trousers.

widgypog · 18/11/2007 17:23

I have got a gap one that i have had for 4 yrs ..only comes out when really cold!! it is a nice shape and gives me a waist..I am a curvy 12 tho I do have a v small waist so maybe thats why???!!!??

Was just going to start a similar thread. I've only just bought a 'winter' coat but it is only warm enough for dashing to and from the car in, I need something polar-bear style to keep me really warm. had a parka style one for 2 years but it was a cheapo and fell apart.

What do you think of [http://www.blacks.co.uk/blacks.storefront/product/BLK-SS06-Womens-Clothing/BLK-SS06-Womens-Jackets- and-Outershell/041130.aspx?refine=BLG-Brand|The-North-Face|String this in brown?]

Thanks!
