Is there any way of shrinking shoes? Bought some Jimmy Choos as a Christmas treat and they are too big!

Bought them on ebay and they are slightly too big where they have been worn previously. Any ideas? My husband's suggestion of putting them in the washing machine has obviously been dismissed!

Can you not put an insole in (or whatever they're called). I remember from my schooldays these little pads you put in the toe to make the shoe fit. Or are they flimsy sandals?

ellehcim · 14/11/2007 11:43

The insole doesn't work because they are very high and my foot slips down into the shoe too much. Very disappointing - I've never had posh shoes before. Am probably going to have to put them back onto ebay [sad}

i think you'll have to, you will only be uncomfy. Perhaps then you can find something with the money you make.

How annoying.

I have done this with shoes to small, and worn them and crippled my feet, really stupid of me!!!!

Lauriefairycake · 14/11/2007 11:50

Not a full insole but those grippy, half ones to stop the balls of your feet rubbing, the clear ones........oh, what are they called

by Scholl. I wear them in my Choos and you can't see them. Having said that proper designer shoes like Choos and Gina are made a big big in my opinion so I always buy a half size smaller or if open toed a full size smaller.

Lucky you didn't pay £400 for them and got them off ebay

Get pregnant again and your feet will swell to fit the shoes?

Full of helpful suggestions, me...

ellehcim · 14/11/2007 11:54

Good idea lemonaid!

I can just see the conversation now

"darling - you know the expensive shoes I nagged you for - well because they don't fit, we now have no choice but to have the third expensive baby I've been nagging you for"

Hot sweaty feet should do it. How about booking a trip to somewhere equatorial and humid? Got to be less drastic than pregnancy.

Darn - I thought this thread was going to be the answer to my "what AM I going to do with these gorgeous Hobbs boots in my wardrobe that are too big for me" question. But no...
