Ruined beautiful new bag by trying to protect it - any ideas?

It was quite a splurge for me as I didn't actually need a new bag but I loved the slouchy look / leather texture / colour.

And I was so pleased with it, I made sure to protect it as I have managed to mark similar light coloured bags in the past very easily.

And now of course it looks like it is made of plastic!

Any ideas on what I can do to restore it back to its original beauty?

That's a gorgeous bag! Are you sure it looks as bad as you think?

I've not got any good suggestions based on knowledge, but if it was me I might try buffing it with leather cleaning cream?

I know that waterproofing stuff does eventually wear off because I've used similar on walking boots and it has to be re-applied.

Ask a specialist bag cleaning company? Think there is one called Handbag Clinic or some such.

It may just need buffing in. I use collonil which is a very similar product and when I sprayed DS’s faux leather school shoes they looked even less like leather until I buffed. Fingers crossed!
