Could you tell me your ‘go to’ office workwear, needs to be affordable.

I’m sick of wearing the same old clothes and I am quite thrifty with workwear wardrobe. I don’t like spending lots of clothes for work. This could actually be where I’m going wrong.

We work in quite a casual office and I can get away with wearing black jeggings, but generally wear Next or M&S tailored trousers, which last me ages! It’s the tops I struggle with.

I like something that covers my bum and tummy area but doesn’t swamp me. I have so few tops that manage this that I’ll wear a top that I don’t think ‘fits the Bill’ and layer it with a black, navy or stone cardi!

The weather is due to turn next week and I’m already feeling panicky about my wardrobe (or lack of suitable summer staples).

Please give me some ideas. What do you wear?

Added to my list is no shirts, as they are usually indecent over my chest, and I need ease of movement, and not acres of polyester, and shoulders covered....

I think what I want is a smart teeshirt type top. I had several years ago, but after 5 years out of work they are looking faded!
