Ironically, I woke up with a spot this morning.

Catsmother, I used to have a real problem with spots on my back, tried gp etc. Then I read that it can be due to your hair conditioner. In that it runs down your back in shower/bath. I gave it a try a few years ago and have had virtually no probs since. I'm just really careful when I rinse my conditioner off that it doesn't go down my back (just have to bend back a bit!). I know it sounds a bit simplistic but it made such a difference to me.

i had the same until mid thirties when i realised it was make up that was affecting it. a bit drastic at first for me as i always wore foundation but once got over the feel of not wearing any makeup as in foundation my skin has never come out in spots since and i just use facial tan stuff to keep my face an o.k colour...

Yes. I developed acne for the first time a year ago, aged 28. It's more likely than not hormonal - my cycles became a bit inconsistent around the same time and I did get a blood test result back suggesting premature ovarian failure . Hoping that's not actually the case.

Two things have worked for me on the spot front. Firstly, a strict anti-candida diet, which I stuck to for three months, during which time I had glorious skin and no spots. Secondly, this time around - because I can't do really, really strict eating forever - is a Chinese topical treatment called 101E Acne Getaway. I've never 'done' this kind of thing before, but was getting desperate, and it came highly recommended. After a few weeks, it's working. Fewer spots, less angry spots, and smoother, softer skin.

Oh, and I only ever wash with a flannel and warm water. No products. No moisturiser - other than moisturising from the inside by supplementing Omegas.

HTH

Yes - especially around period. Think I will go straight from having spots to having wrinkles!
