Is Avant actually any good or is it's pricing a weird scam?

Sorry if it is a weird question but I follow a few different beauty subscription boxes (DSD likes their one offs/occasional subscriptions) and almost without fail when one proclaims it's "extra high value" that months it turns out that 80% of the "value' is an Avant cream of some sort. Maybe I am a cynic but how can they give away so much stuff that is purportedly worth upwards of £90 for a little tube?

Pyjama drama box! Had never had one before, was a gift from my sister because she subscribes and was so thrilled what "good value" it was this month... so you can imagine my eye roll when the "good value " was just another Avant thing!

DSD is more into make up than skin care bits so had never actually been sucked by it, but just constantly see it on so many brands "extra good value" boxes

I have received a few avant products in subscription boxes/advent calendars etc and I’ve only tried one of the products and it was awful. It was some sort of blue cream that smelled like cheap men’s aftershave and the smell lingered even after I’d tried scrubbing it off. It didn’t sink in either! Put me off trying anything else by then!

Yeah I'm surprised I can't find anything else written about it tbh. It feels like a company is selling cheap gloop at vastly over inflated "prices" so that all the beauty box type things can convince customers they are getting an amazing deal

I don't think it's worth the pretend prices they put on it but it is decent! I get glossy box so have had an avant primer, face scrub and moisturiser. About £300 worth if their pricing is to be believed! I think it's worth about £15/20 a product max, no way would I pay £92 for the moisturiser!

Definitely scammy prices, the products are ok but nothing special.

It’s not just Avant. I was looking at the Boots Deals and there were a lot of inflated prices for fairly ordinary products. Everything new to the market seems to be in the same price range and I’ve still not got the foggiest what they all do.
