I wear them to work every day under trousers (and I'm not a policewoman ). Wouldn't wear them with a skirt though (but my legs are my worst feature for sure).

I think they are ok under trews.

they look weird

They're ok under trousers in a work-ish sort of way. I have yet to see anyone outside of the pages of Vogue who can work them satisfactorily.

they look like trotters which is oddly apt. but really i think it is the broguish laceup element you are objecting to ig. cannot see even juliet bravo wearing 3" heels.
