Usually the shops are awash with these around Xmas - but can't find one this year.

Any ideas, oh style gurus?

That Kew one is lovely, shame its such an AWFUl shop! Every time I go into the local branch there are always three assistants all sitting at the till chatting. They always ignore all customers, never offer help and when asked to help are extremely rude. So I never go there anymore. But it is a v pretty skirt. Wonder if Next have anything they do lots of party clothes?

shreddies · 10/11/2007 22:18

Kew irritates me, you can't return anything you buy online to a shop, you have to post it back. Makes it ££££ and it isn't made clear in their catalogue/ on the web. Have only just discovered this having driven to nearest Kew, paid for parking etc etc etc

MrsBadger · 10/11/2007 22:21

I looked in
next
laura ashley
principles
coast
monsoon
oasis
wallis
french connection
m&s
dorothy perkins
hobbs
warehouse
karen millen
debenhams
great plains

and only found those two

MrsBadger · 10/11/2007 22:23

oh and boden

there is a possible one in Jigsaw but theor website is rubbish

Pannacotta · 11/11/2007 17:59

Wow MrsB you really did trawl!

MrsBadger · 11/11/2007 18:12

oh yes
if I am given a good brief it is easy as you just click through going 'no no no no'

it's the 'I need some kind of party top, maybe in green' that are the hard ones.

SlubberwifeofLen · 11/11/2007 18:27

Oh I like the tesco one.

Mrs Badger, you and Jackie should go into an online 'your fashion dilemmas solved' business. You could have lapin as a hired help for shoe issues.

MrsBadger · 11/11/2007 18:58

get the jacket to match the Tesco one as well
here

bargain, won't date, and hugely useful together as a suit for for winter weddings as well as separately Christmas parties, going out etc.

SlubberwifeofLen · 11/11/2007 20:14

I would MrsBadger, but I have an almost identical one in black satin that I got from Laura Ashley last year.

Can't wear that with the velvet skirt though can I? I feel a trip to our huge new Tesco's coming on tomorrow

oh i drove all the way to the tesco extra in chichester (an hour away) the other day, to get some xmas bits, and picked up a pair of fabulous biker boots for 40 quid

i love tesco for their clothing

HysterSister · 13/11/2007 18:54

Mrs B, you are a style lexicon . I could only find one other - from Toast (pricey).

Amazing, isn't it? You would have thought that a black velvet skirt was an absolute staple, especially at Xmas, espacially from Laura Ashley and the like. But nix. Must be the heavy satin activity this year, driving velvet off the map.

I'm off to tesco!
