Hi all. Next week I will turn 30! I am having a big night out on the town next Saturday and desperately need some advice on what to wear. I want somthing really flattering for my frame. Im 5 foot 7, medium frame (if a little wobbly in places) I've got large boobs and ample hips (fab for giving birth, not so fab for style!) and am absolutely stuck for what to wear. I lay myself before you for advice (I've looked at lots of previous threads of this ilk, and I know mumsnetters are fab for helping out. Help me find somthing that say "30, NOOOOOOO!
Thanks for any tips

Sorry to be obvious, but you sound like the perfect candidate for a wrap dress. With a stunning necklace and some industrial knickers ( I am also 5 foot 7 and wobbly, so I know what it's like).

Have a fab night. HTH

Yup, I agree, you sound a similar figure to me (I'm a bit taller) and wrap dresses do work wonders. For a night out on the town, don't wear a camisole underneath and invest in some tit tape. Voila. Sex, but flattering. Also, because it's adjustable, you can do the cleavage to your level of modesty!

Another option, depending on how ample your bosoms are, might be a prom dress style. A full skirt (particularly with an underskirt) and fitted top half is very flattering. Actually, I am not sure prom dress is what I mean. Does it have to be strapless to be a prom dress? Anyway, not necessarily strapless, but full skirt, tight top half, prob sleeveless (sp?) and v neck.

bobbiewickham · 10/11/2007 13:26

Sorry, but lol at "sex, but flattering."

Rings true, these days.

nobodysfool · 10/11/2007 14:04

Have you tried 'Oli'?I always find really fantasic dresses in there and they fit my largish boobs(32e).They deliver the next day and are not to expensive.Hope this helps.

Oh, where's the fun in that, Cod? She wants to be glam.

bobbiewickham · 10/11/2007 14:11

Wrap dress not necessarily officey. Not if in nice lairy colour/pattern with a pair of fishnets.

ArrogantCod · 10/11/2007 14:13

lots of trous & tunics

(also lecherous estate agents but that is another matter)

ahundredtimes · 10/11/2007 14:51

Oh god Mrs B, Foxinsocks and I were screeching your name last night, trying to help this person find a silk shirt. It was exhausting, and we were unproductive and we both ended up sulking.

hang on, I'm going to find the link.

bobbiewickham · 10/11/2007 14:51

There you go.

Shows you what my social life is like.

Please help her. But after hours of running up and down stairs with arm loads of silk shirts, she started on about the colour over the material, and I gave up at that point.

MrsBadger · 10/11/2007 16:25

[round of applause]

snort at your virtual bar though
bet you didn't have white chocolate martinis

Panyanpickle77 · 10/11/2007 17:37

Cheers for all of the advice ladies. I've been trauling the shops all day, and am quickly losing the will to live!
The night out is going to be a variety of bars (decent not skanky) and then onto a club (by which point I hope to be so trolleyed that I have no care what type it is!.....can you tell I don't get out much).
nobodysfool \\\\thanks for the Oli tip, thayve got some fab pieces, much better than I've seen in the shops.
I've always found bias cut dresses suit me best (what with the hips and all!) but are they a little dated? With my ample norks I also find a bit of cleavage can do wonders (tends to draw the eyes away from all the bad points), so if you see anything you think may suit me please link it so I can have a shufty
thanks again

How about a glam wrap top and trousers, as per Cod's suggestion? Actually that site has some gorgeous tops.

(MrsBadger - nice try with that link).

JackieNo · 10/11/2007 17:55

Actually just noticed they have that first top as a dress too, but I think this one looks funkier (if your arms are up to it).
