Shall we have a beauty device we love thread? The market is saturated, what works?!

So far I have a water irrigation device, a red/blue/yellow LED lamp, a hair remover (like Lumia but cheaper), then have a microcurrent device and I’ve just ordered a Lux face sculpting tool which came with a microdermabrasion device free 🤭

I love my water irrigation device. 5 stars out of 5. It’s similar to a WaterPik in terms of what it does and I use it around three times a week

The LED lamp - too early to say. It claims to help with acne, boost collagen and other anti aging benefits. Only been using it a week so couldn’t say. The technology has great credentials though. I’ve read double blind studies where the outcomes have been proven, so I’m hopeful.

Microcurrent device- well it’s actually an EMS device but I mainly use it on the setting that gives continuous microcurrent. I LOVE it. It’s amazing and has given me a brow lift pretty much instantaneously. Ridiculous. I use it daily.

The other devices I haven’t received yet but my main problem areas are jowls and around the eyes.

Oh and the hair remover - I cant say I’m blown away yet but I haven’t been using it often enough I think. I would like to be using it a couple of times a week. At the moment it’s more like once a week.

I've recently returned a Rio 60 second. It was really uncomfortable and the turning it made my face do would have caused wrinkles over time, imvho.

I've also previously returned a Nu face. It made zero difference.

I've got an led lamp, which did make a difference to my spits a few years ago.

I've had caci treatments in the past and never seen even the tiniest bit of improvement.

#spots, not spits.

That’s what I have! It’s an amazing machine but you do have to let it train you. I completely agree with what you’ve said, if you stick it on high and let it contort your face then I agree it could exacerbate wrinkles. But on setting three and using it in ways that lift the face as opposed to make it twitch wildly, it’s amazing! I swear I thought I was going to have to have a surgical intervention to lift my brows but they now sit really beautifully, I just couldn’t be more impressed.

Ooh which microcurrent device do you have?

I have Dermawand radiofreqquency which does lift my jowls/cheeks.
Project E led mask - definitely plumps skin on white seing
Nu Face mini - this is the one I'm most reluctant to use - It's a lot of faff and I feel like a cold splash of water followed by an aggresive face massage gives more results.

I’ll add a photo. I wish I had a before but my eye was hooded and the eyelid that is now showing was over my eye to the point you couldn’t see my eyeliner. Everything is now lifted and my eyeshadow and eyeliner can now be seen. I’m nearly 50, it’s quite miraculous.

I have the Rio like the previous poster.

I like the idea of a RF device like Newa but then I got scared as it talked about it breaking down fat or something!!! I want to retain the fat on my face, not break it down 🙈

Ooh, I’ll be watching this thread with interest! 😊

I was tempted with the LUX LED face mask and the face sculpting tool. Wondering whether they were any good or not? But I’ve seen reviews about eye damage in general with these face masks, which worries me.

You can see some creping on the eyelid crease. So I’m watching that with interest to see if it improves.

Interestingly there’s some very good science that red light therapy actually helps eyesight instead of damages it. I’ll link to a recent study.

Which water irrigation device do you have please OP?

justanotherneighinparadise · 31/03/2021 12:54

I have a counter top one. I can only find the one I have on eBay but there are lots of other brands about. I wanted one that had a good reliability rating so if you go through amazon just scrutinise the reviews.
