brown, navy, sludge green or character related. I'm looking for something so I can spot him easily (he's a runner )but not that will make him look ridiculous (ie not those jester type hats so beloved of the attendees of Glastonbury). I know I'm asking alot but there must be something out there! Thanks.

Some nice ones here?

woodenchair · 09/11/2007 12:52

last year ds who was 1 at the time would not keep a hat on for love or money. DP bought him an adult beanie and he wore it all winter, so maybe something like that?

lemonaid · 09/11/2007 12:52

(ebaying)

This?

or this?

or this (certainly stands out)?

or this?

This comes in turquose or red. Not sure of the sizing.

MrsFrosty · 09/11/2007 12:59

Thanks Jackieno, I would quite like one with ear flaps woodenchair as he really feels the cold I like the little blue one with ear flaps on the first page of the little trekkers one but it doesn't come in his size...bum!

This is lovely and bright, but not sure if you'd think the tassel was too much. In fact that website has several pages of colourful hats.

woodenchair · 09/11/2007 13:01

flaps it is then. have you tried any supermarkets, they are pretty good.

I think I saw a deer stalker hat in Tesco's yesterday

JackieNo · 09/11/2007 13:03

DS has one I bought last year in Primark with shaped earflaps. Mid blue.

lemonaid · 09/11/2007 13:04

Bush Baby Snow hat (down at bottom of page) in red or royal blue.

JackieNo · 09/11/2007 13:06

Fair trade rainbow one (scroll down) or the one below in bright blue?

bobsmum · 09/11/2007 13:10

Seesaw do lovely nordic hats and matching scarves - they have nice stripes in grey and bright red.

MrsBadger · 09/11/2007 13:11

pompoms?
tassels?

lemonaid · 09/11/2007 13:13

There's a poster up in DS's nursery for someone who handmakes hats with flaps, come to think of it -- I'll take down the details.

MrsFrosty · 09/11/2007 13:28

Thank you! Loads of brillian suggestions. I think I'll get him a couple from the Jako-o website, they're great! So I have one more quick question. Ds's head circumferance is 52cm. They have ones in 50/52 or 54/56. Do you think I should go for the larger one or the one that is exactly his size?

My inclination is always to buy bigger, but I guess it might slip down over his eyes. Sorry, that's not really any help, is it. You might be able to fold the 'brim' up a bit to make it smaller if it's really too big.
