Is microblading over?

More natural? Fluffed up? Less prominent?

I don't know but I do know I'm not going to over pluck mine again whatever the fashion! It's taking years to regrow them plus they're so blonde I can hardly see the hairs to fill them in!!

TellingBone · 27/03/2021 12:01

Mine are blonde and sparse too - though not through over-plucking. I've got some bald patches as well.

I resisted microblading - it would be too overpowering on my face. I got some recs for products on here which are pretty good but I'd love to have my own brows just more so IYSWIM. Grin

Hopefully bushy, half bald and white in places Grin. Will save me a lot of time and money

oohmama · 27/03/2021 14:07

I've seen a few people in Instagram with thin eyebrows
Not quite 90's thin but much thinner than the current trend
With all the other 90's come backs I wouldn't be surprised if the young'uns start over plucking again!!

I'm getting my HD brows once they open and I'm going to ask for natural fluffy brows!

ILikeTheWineNotTheLabel · 27/03/2021 14:35

The youngsters are wearing them thinner and with less product/treatments. So a slick of eyebrow gel, often applied backwards against the grain so it coats the hairs well but doesn’t touch the skin underneath. Then quickly neatened with a sweep back in the right direction.

Very much about seeing the individual hairs and not having a solid block.

To be fair I can see brows being a lot less of a thing- pretty much just left natural.

stressbandit · 27/03/2021 14:48

For the first time today I shaped mine properly and I'm really happy with them left as they are, until I do my whole makeup and then I feel I have to either fill in or just do them. very annoying.

It’s ‘Fox’ brows apparently (bottom pic)

What is that? Slightly less shape and definition?

Potpourriandpennysweets · 27/03/2021 14:58

More natural for a little while I think, and then they will gradually get thinner and thinner and back to the over plucked

Potpourriandpennysweets · 27/03/2021 14:59

But no more micro blading and super thick ones!

dividedwefall · 27/03/2021 15:00

As long as we never have to see another pair of mating slugs I'm happy. Au naturel all the way.

CorianderBee · 27/03/2021 15:47

I reckon straight brows, like they have in east Asia.

Korea and Japan are all the rage with teens right now.

TellingBone · 27/03/2021 15:52

Thanks everyone. Yes I think more natural would be a logical progression from current trends. And straight brows for the young 'uns.

Jetsthebestgladiator · 30/03/2021 00:19

Yes I think fox brows are more up at the ends tan now to give your eye area a more lifted catlike appearance

SongSilkTrainspot · 30/03/2021 00:49

A la Bridgerton, groomed but straight with no arch.

Housewife2010 · 30/03/2021 07:02

Do you remember those toys with a little face on a screen that had a magnetic wand that you could drag hair around with? That. Pffft.

I honestly think they’ve reached the limit of trends for brows, unless they start colouring them in alternating stripes, or perhaps shave gaps along the length? I suppose you could try removing them altogether, to fit with other body-hair trends. Some folks in the 90’s came pretty close! (They still look like fish to me)

MinnieMous3 · 30/03/2021 11:21

I’m just going to continue tinting and plucking the very out of place hairs. I won’t be plucking them very thin if that comes into fashion because it’s so ageing and unflattering, plus they may never grow back!

PolytheneHam · 30/03/2021 11:22

Hopefully it'll be for over-plucked and sparsed like mine. DD told me a couple of years ago that I have "nineties eyebrows", and I've been quite self-conscious about them since.

See the ones on the right are very close to my natural just need to pluck some of the random sticky outy ones. But I prefer to have them threaded to look like the ones on the left
