Have seen these which look like a bargain:

I am quite lean and leggy and wondering if they will suit me with a tunic style top. I am not really into the skinny jean look, nor the dress over the trousers. Is this a fashion disaster waiting to happen? Am looking for something smart to get me away from jeans/trainers look.

i like them ,but more for evening than daytime wear. the sateen makes them quite glam imo. i have just got some nearly the same off ebay ,brand new john rocha sateen ones which i am wearing to a wedding reception, with a smart top and leather knee boots.
i really wouldnt wear them in the day tho.
but its your choice how to wear them.

I rather like the idea of these with flat pumps or kitten heels (which aren't in at the moment but are too good to be out for long). As for tops, I think you need things that emphasise long and lean so I'm not convinced about tunics. A fitted blouse - there are lots of handsome pintuck/bibbed ones around - might look good. Sorry this isn't very specific.

No, no and no again.
you run the risk that young people will ignore this fashion, and women of a certain age will adopt it enthusiastically because they think it makes them look young and with it.

I love cropped trousers, have been wearing them for years

they aren't new, are they? I think they look smart and cool - but not young or partic fashionable

fishie · 08/11/2007 21:07

the concept is good but shiny is a bit much. i like them with knee high boots with a heel. (not on me though)

boo64 · 08/11/2007 21:41

But isn't the cropped trousers look a bit 'last year'

webchick · 08/11/2007 22:19

I am not too sure about this; I suspect I will buy a pair, wear them twice then in the wardrobe for the next few months.

Now that winter is upon us I am a boots person so perhaps I will stick to skirts/opaques/boots and leave the cropped look to the 20-something.

Thanks for the input ladies .

If you DO buy a pair, wear them twice and then put in your wardrobe, will you let me have them? My best pair are virtually falling apart because I wore them so much
