I asked on another thread but no luck

Has anyone seen women wearing kimono or kimono style stuff in a bar or restaurant?

Eg.
onehundredstars.co.uk/products/duster-coat-stork-slate?_pos=3&_sid=8fdaea662&_ss=r

Thanks!

Angel in Escape to the Chateau seems to pull it off. Not sure if that counts as real life though!

It might be a case of buying longer and altering. I could make a scarf!

It's actually really simple to sew a kimono. The simplest pattern is just an oversized rectangle or T-shape. If you can sew a hem, you can sew a kimono.

I have some made up in Liberty print silk. I waft around London in them in the summer with jeans or a slip dress. Bars, restaurants, parks, museums, galleries, the tube, even the supermarket.

Why did I click onto this thread....those one hundred stars throws abs kimonos are wonderful.

Will have to buy one.

I have fond memories of my mother wearing a kimono style dressing gown for years. I stole it as a teenager and wore it so much the fabric split.

It's still in my sewing box, waiting to be made into something.

@cataclysmiclife think I’ll treat myself once the weather gets nicer. I think I need to waft through the summer! 😆

I haven't seen anyone in a bar or restaurant. Weep.

Anyway I have one of the short kimonos from One Hundred Stars which I will happily waft around in at bars and restaurants when the time comes (ironically quite likely to be in Croydon!).

Good to know, thank you.

StCharlotte - why not in Croydon.

I actually have a load of silk that an aunt sent from abroad, years ago, her intention was that I'd get something made but there's quite a lot of it so I might have a go at making something.
