Red teddy coat - love it and wore for two winters but hardly at all this year
Maxi dress - really flattering lovely dress but haven’t worn it for six years
Skinny jeans - still hanging on to them but don’t find them comfortable any more
Bodycon dresses - worn on special occasions but I read on here they are dated Confused
High heels - loads all different styles, used to wear them to work but not any more

Pretty much everything probably.

KirstenBlest · 20/03/2021 20:10

I didn't get rid of my bootlegs and will wear them again, as they are not low-rise. I have clothes from the 1990s but as I am unlikely to wear them I'll probably donate to charity shops.

I try to buy things that won't date too drastically, or that will 'spark joy'.
Things that I feel nice in.

Giggorata · 20/03/2021 20:29

Like KirstenBles, most of it.

A maxi dress that I always get lots of compliments for, loads of hippy stuff, a huge fake fur coat that we call “the bear” in the family but it's so warm, and I never ever throw away any boots, so I have a vast collection of varying styles and colours.
We won't discuss hats...

Disfordarkchocolate · 20/03/2021 20:31

Probably everything. I buy what I like and have no understanding of stopping wearing something because its no longer fashionable. I wear clothes until they wear out or they don't fit.

NoMoreZigAndSharko · 20/03/2021 20:40

I have a cotton sort of lindybop style dress. I don't like it. I think that look had a brief moment and then went away again. But it is a lovely dress and it does suit me. I am keeping it, as every time I get rid of nice things which have fallen out if fashion, i end up regretting it!

MsJuniper · 20/03/2021 20:43

I have some maxi boho skirts that I haven't worn for years but they always escape the wardrobe cull. Maybe they'll get an airing this summer, who knows.

KirstenBlest · 20/03/2021 20:50

The things that are one season wonders aren't things I'd buy.

I have sold or given away some things and regretted it.

If you like it and it suits you keep it, unless it is something that will perish. Elastic doesn't like being packed away, and woolens can get eaten by moths.

Indecisivelurcher · 20/03/2021 20:52

I'm just wondering whether to palm off several pairs of skinny jeans... They're done, aren't they?

StickBadge · 20/03/2021 20:54

My wardrobe would never be described as fashionable anyway, but the things that spring to mind:

Skinny jeans - wear these most days

Ballet flats - Not worn these for ages but I like them and won't throw them away.

KirstenBlest · 20/03/2021 20:55

I'm not because they suit me and fit into my knee length boots, which are also not trendy.

NoMoreZigAndSharko · 20/03/2021 21:25

I am also hanging on to my skinnies to wear under knee boots. Don't care about fashion for that, as I wear them in wet, cold weather. Couldn't care less if I'm fashionable in that weather, as long as I'm warm and dry!

Echobelly · 20/03/2021 21:29

My entire wardrobe?

I'm lots of colour and pattern and no 'chic', 'fashionable' or anything like that!

AdaFuckingShelby · 20/03/2021 21:32

All of it. Fuck fashion.

Mamette · 20/03/2021 21:33

Loads of work clothes. No matter how much I try to cull them there are things I just can’t bear to let go of- bloody expensive suits and jackets and dresses. I haven’t worked in an office for nearly 7 years now Confused

Holothane · 20/03/2021 21:35

Some of my stuff Dr who and Star Wars t shirts are a few years old when they fall apart they are gone until then I wear them, loads of new ones at Forbidden Planet new t shirts for birthday I think.😊😊

WellTidy · 20/03/2021 21:38

Knee high leather boots with heels (chestnut and black pairs)

Knee high leather flat leather boots (chestnut and black pairs)

About four pairs of Ugg sheepskin boots with the buttons - so warm and comfortable on my bunions

Three all over pattern maxi dresses - barely worn as I haven’t fitted into them for about three summers, I will absolutely wear them if I fit into them this summer

A zillion other things! I absolutely have more unfashionable things than fashionable things

Janaih · 20/03/2021 21:40

Dark indigo denim corset dress that I wore new years eve 1999. I could never part with it.

Loopyloututu2 · 20/03/2021 21:50

The tight, red, extremely revealing dress (from Morgan - anyone remember that?) I was wearing when I first met dh!

A very old pair of 30’s style t-bar shoes from miss selfridge I bought in about 1998 - I haven’t worn them since then and never will (unless it’s as a flapper in fancy dress!) but they’re so pretty I can’t bear to get rid of them.

A real fur coat that belonged to my grandma that I’ve never worn but can’t bear to get rid of for sentimental reasons.

Lots of other things too!

Knittingnanny · 20/03/2021 21:57

Hang on to your maxi hippy skirts! They always come round again and again. I bought one from fat face last summer and wore it a lot, I made a similar one in o level needlework in 1973. Wish I’d kept it, although my waist was considerably smaller then. I’ve also wore midi length hippy skirts maybe late 1990’s.
I saw a lady in full lindyhop gear including the hair and makeup wafting around The Range last week. She lifted my spirits, looked beautiful. I did another circuit with my trolley just to get another look at the beautiful dress

PrintempsAhoy · 20/03/2021 22:02

My smart shirt dresses for work, smart leather shoes

But my company no longer has an office and everyone now wears fleeces or T shirts in zoom meetings Grin

Am keeping some of my skinnies (the comfy ones) as ideal for dog walking as they go inside welly boots so neatly

I have 5 silk jersey dresses (DvF or similar which are not fashionable but I love them so I keep them. Two are sort of fitted body with puff sleeves and midi length. I’ll still wear them to people’s weddings, they are just very “me” and the way silk jersey hangs and feels on your skin is just heaven Grin)

MolotovMocktail · 20/03/2021 22:31

Oh no, are knee length leather boots out of fashion? I love mine.

StarlightLady · 21/03/2021 04:20

A number of cheesecloth tops.

ReleaseTheCracken · 21/03/2021 04:41

A pale gold skirt suit that my husband bought for me when I was 30. I'm 51.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/03/2021 09:23

I don't give a toss about fashion. If I still like it and it still fits, it stays in my wardrobe. If not, it goes.

Blondiney · 21/03/2021 11:15

A skinny fit 1970s brown leather coat, bought in Afflecks Palace sometime in the mid 90s. My brother used to hum the 'Shaft' theme tune every time I wore it. Hmm

Not worn it for well over a decade but I will never ever part with it.
