Alternatives to hair spray to keep fringe in place

Hairspray doesn't seem to work on me, no matter how much I use. I came across a thread a while back where others said they're the same so it seems to be a hair type rather than incompetence (I'm crap at styling though so I do sometimes wonder if I'm just using it wrong).

Are there alternatives at all? I can brush my fringe and it looks great for a very very short while so but is back looking all over the place within minutes. Would hair gel be too greasy looking?

Have you tried styling mousse then blow dry? Or Wella have some good styling products if you Google them, one of them being Perfect Setting Lotion.

Hmm, I'm not great at blow dries but I'll look into the setting lotion.

Lots of You Tube videos demonstrating blow drying. The key is getting the right sized brush for the look you want.

I have very very thick hair, the only, and I mean only, hairspray that works for me is good old fashioned Elnett. Might as well use perfume if it's not Elnett as that's more effective than any other brand for me!!
