Where would you shop if you were a 27 year old size 12 mum?

I’ve never been fashionable but I would love to start looking more put together. When I worked in an office I always wore pretty dresses with plain heels but I’m now a SAHM with no clue what to wear that’s casual but stylish.
I’m pale with blonde hair so pale colours are a no go.
Where should I shop? And what basics do I need?

asos is good because it has stuff from different stores

zara is good for basics too

As you used to like dresses, maybe try H & M - they do good little casual dresses, knitted, denim and sweat shirt styles that you could wear with opaque tights and boots.

I like Zara too for dresses, but their website is shocking, nothing ever looks very appealing on their models - infact the models don't look happy to be there at all 😂

Vote for Zara too...but also agree about the weird model poses!!

Rina66 · 19/03/2021 19:25

🤣 @veryhungryhippo that's gotta be photoshopped! It's the facial expressions too though, I always wonder what the photographer is saying to them, she looks confused!

Thank you!

I second asos but depends on your budget. When I’m feeling like a splurge I love & Other Stories, Whistles and All Saints (sale). If I’m less flush then Zara or Topshop (but quality and fit can be so hit and miss thanks to weird sizing).

I'm also really liking some of the Labelmix items on the Next website at the moment - it's expensive but kind of fashionable but timeless if that's not a contradiction in terms. There's some good not Next clothes on the next website, they're doing Religion on there too now, a lovely floaty pink trench, maxi skirt and bright tunic dress.

Sorry, I know the coat is a pale colour!

SpamIAm · 22/03/2021 12:18

I buy almost exclusively from H&M these days. Free delivery, easy returns, and if basically single-handed you keeping our local Hermes delivery man in a job 😂

I feel like I would like some Zara stuff but I just can't get past the dreadful website.

Mixitupalot · 22/03/2021 12:23

That’s me & I buy from ASOS, it’s handy, has everything & delivery is great.

I had my colours done ages ago, that’s probably a good idea to start there. I think even Pinterest can give you a clue to your colouring.

Look for new in and I usually buy things from that section so I am trendy but can lol at the stuff that I wouldn’t wear in a million years!

Ps the baby ska jeans are only £20 and are probably the best jeans I’ve ever had.
