so yesterday i went on a mission to find 'the' dress for a party on saturday

and i came away with nothing but eyes full of tears i couldn't find anything that fitted or looked nice. Even the assistant in principles said that one of the dresses I tried on made my look 'dumpy' All the dresses I liked didn't go up to my size. I could barely even fit in a size 18 I still have nothing to wear on saturday night. Think I am going to fall ill at the last minute and not bother going. I'm not good enough to be in a room with them all anyway.

Would echo the advice about Monsoon - they have lovely stuff.

The black dress you linked to is lovely. I am a 22 and wore something similar last summer to a 40th. Felt fab and was told I look fab and that I should wear stuff like that more often. In fact a friend's DH told me I should show more flesh more often! (He wasn't being sleazy - just nice!)

that black dress is much nicer than the pink top. sorry. also i bet the clasp/buckle thing in the middle looks really cheap irl. go for the black dress - it is sexy and classy!

my DH says that pink suits me. I have got another top in the same colour and he says i look fab in it.

anyway, i am off into town in a bit with a friend. We are going to go to debenhams and see what we can find and try a few things on. If not then I will head back to monsoon and ask their advice. FIL gave me £60 towards my outfit last night too which is a bonus
