BB creams. Eborian too dark, orange and heavy. Any decent ones?

I treated myself to Eborian BB cream in Clair, having been sucked in by their advertising. I'm 46 and wanted some light coverage that would last the day but the cream looked very heavy on my skin, too dark and had a strange orangy-peach tone that no human skin has. Any tips for a lightweight, non-shiny, non-orange cream to make me look polished yet youthful? I'm going back to my Jane Iredale powder for now as at least the colour stays true.

This was on my purchase next list so that's off putting! I had a sample last year and the colour was ok but anything orange worries me as I am very very pale skinned.

My other options on the list are bare minerals complexion rescue as its light coverage and gets great reviews.

I read so many positive things about NARS tinted moisturiser but when I went into Space NK they said their shades were quite yellow toned and Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser would work better so maybe worth a look?

Trinny London BFF seems to cover a similar requirement for a light base.

I will be following for other suggestions!

Haven't tried it but I saw a thread recently where someone mentioned the M&S bb cream/tinted moisturiser and lots of people agreed it was good. It's on my list of ones to try. I really like the bare minerals too but I see that's already been suggested.

I personally love Erborian. I’m very pale. It goes on quick, excellent coverage and I have Clair and it works for my pale skin with a red tinge. I rave about Erborian.
I’ve tried other BBs and was not at all impressed.

My colouring is somewhere in between 'milk bottle' and 'dead' so finding a BB cream that didn't give me a 90s style orange tide mark was a nightmare. This Missha BB Cream was recommended to me on here many years ago and it is hands down the best BB cream ever. It's a Korean brand and makes your skin look perfectly dewy, while still having good coverage. Shades 21 and 13 are the best / palest.

GrimDamnFanjo · 14/03/2021 14:37

Missha for me too! I use 13. I love it!

ShrikeAttack · 14/03/2021 16:48

I use Chantecaille Just Skin tinted moisturiser, it's really nice and light.

However, I recently got a Monuskin perfecting tint in my Cohorted beauty box and I really rate it, it gives an excellent finish. It's half the price of the Chantecaille too!

ShrikeAttack · 14/03/2021 16:50

I didn't get on with the Laura Mercies @Fispi, I found it quite heavy.

lindyloo57 · 14/03/2021 17:26

I have the Eborein in shade Clair it's a bit dark for me maybe better for summer, I do love it, no other tinted moisturiser/ bb / cc cream has stayed so well on my combination skin, I also have the missha in shade 23 and 25 again great for summer months,

lindyloo57 · 14/03/2021 17:28

Just to add i have heard good thing about a brand called code 8 they do a face balm which is a bb or tinted cream, has anyone tried it.

HundredMilesAnHour · 14/03/2021 17:33

Try the Erborian BB creme in Nude instead. I find Clair a little too dark (although I've only tried it in their CC creme). I love it! I'm 50 with not great skin but somehow the B creme makes me look polished with good skin yet it's lightweight and doesn't look like I'm wearing a base. I'm totally sold and won't wear anything else.

Fispi · 14/03/2021 18:40

Thanks @ShrikeAttack that saves me £30! I think I'll go for the erborian BB travel size to test it out as it's £16 and seems to be discounted often.

ShrikeAttack · 14/03/2021 18:44

The eborian is good @Fispi, I got it with a gwp from SpaceNK, as other posters found, the shades are a bit limited.

UthredofBattenberg · 14/03/2021 18:47

I wanted to try the missha bb cream as I'm also very pale, so following this with interest.

Are they are any recommended places it can be bought as I'm always worried about fake products

I have bought from this UK based ebay shop many times and the products are always fine.

There's also a genuine eBay shop selling lots of South Korean skincare and products called 'I am love shop' which is based in South Korea and exports to the UK. You might have to pay import duties on those.

Fispi · 14/03/2021 20:21

@UthredofBattenberg it's on offer at TK Maxx! Just saw it for £6.99.

Now....Erborian or Missha? Tempted by the Missha now because of the price.

FreshFaceTime · 14/03/2021 20:32

I'm adding the Erborian bb and cc creams to my lists on the back of this thread.

Alternista · 14/03/2021 20:36

Another vote for Missha, it’s brilliant.

DaisyWaldron · 14/03/2021 20:40

I use the Missha 21, and it's great.
