Skin care/treatments for sun damaged face

After years of abusing the sunshine and sunbeds (what can I say, I was a teenager in the '80s) my face is looking quite ravaged.

I finally have got rid of the acne - but my skin seems to have red patches, which I assume is sun damage. I had one or two checked by the GP a while ago.

My current skin care is not very intense - I'll wash with soap and water or a cream cleanser (removed with water), sometimes a toner - sometimes a moisturiser depending on how tight my skin feels. I use epiduo a couple of nights each week just to ward off any spots.

I don't tend to wear make up so would rather try and get my skin to look less patchy.

Where should I start ? Thanks in advance for tips! Cruelty free/vegan options would be preferable.

I think you’re best off using skin+me for a dermatology prescription, it’s about £20 a month but it’s effective & a red light led mask to stimulate collagen production.

You’ll need a factor 30 or so sunblock everyday from now on too & a good diet.

I'd start woth Vit E ( Holland &Barrett so some Vegan capsuals ) take them orally and I would add a few drops to face cream at night . Vit E is good to repair scar tissue but remember skin takes 28 days to turn itself over so give it time .

And water Skin needs hydration. Drink enough water

My own skin care routine is basic to say the least but minimal skin damage and hereditary Celtic skin.

I know hand on heart if I bought time consuming , multi layered treatments they would stay firmly in the jar Grin

(Also a Cruelty Free user but lazy bugger )
