Non-boring, vaguely fashionable flat shoes

I need some casual flats to see me through springtime, mostly to wear with jeans. I'm bored of my battered Converse. I thought I'd found some in a FB ad but when I showed my 18yo she said they were ugly! Would share the link but I can't see the ad now. My daughter probably scared them away!

Please show me your lovely flat, non-boring shoes. I don't even know what's fashionable any more. I'm 51 but I don't want to look like an old lady!! Help! Budget up to £50.

Try Fitflop, you can often get a VoucherCode for 20% off too. Smile

Brogues? Look on ASOS. Look great with ankle skimming jeans or dresses.

PradaBallbag · 09/03/2021 07:22

Thanks both. I didn't even know Fitflop made anything other than flipflops!

Have a look at Camper, see if you like anything there. Very comfortable.

SavoyCabbage · 09/03/2021 07:41

These are out of stock now so that's not very helpful but knowing M&S they will bring more in. They are boys brogues.

I'm 60, and have to have flat shoes. I found these a couple of years ago. Love them. Really well made. I have shoes, sandals and boots by them now. Be warned delivery can be up to 6 weeks though.

I've been locked down for so long that I've no idea what people outside my household are wearing but, according to magazines, the in thing in flat shoes is thick soled loafers.

I just got these Anna Field boots and they are very comfortable and I love the look of them, including with trousers. I also have a pair of Fitflop brogues for days when I have a lot of foot pain. They're nicer on than in the pics.

PradaBallbag · 09/03/2021 10:45

What do you think of these?

I like these but I'm not going out much so my shoes are languishing at the bottom of the stairs www.riverisland.com/p/cream-ri-branded-tassel-detail-loafer-787836

Try Moda in Pelle, they have nice flats, good quality too.

Pigtailsandall · 09/03/2021 14:55

I like these slipper-style suede shoes - these are pricey, but I saw some a while back at M&S which were very similar and quarter of the price

Are TOMS too casual?

TheVampiresWife · 09/03/2021 16:27

I have those you linked to, OP, along with about 20 other pairs of FFs. They are fabulous. I have rheumatoid arthritis which mainly affects my feet and they've been a godsend - I thought I was going to have to wear the orthopaedic shoes the hospital provided forever until I discovered them. I have platform sandals, ankle boots, knee boots, flats, brogues, and they've all been really comfortable right from the first wear, no breaking in required. For reference, my username is a hint to my style - sort of overblown romantic goth/prairie dresses/etc and I can make FFs work with that easily. For more casual looks they'd look even better I think.

My favourites are the Allegra ballet flats in gold - I bought them in the sale last year and they were only about £20.
