I'm very confused and I need talking through, step by step, about what goes on my face and in what order!

So:

SPF
Moisturiser
Primer
Bb cream
Loose powder
Tanning mist (which is also moisturising and a recent addition so may not make the cut!)

These are the things I want to/ think I should put on my face before getting to actual eye make up and blusher etc.

But in what order do I do it? And would the later products be able to penetrate the earlier ones? And how long to leave between each product? I'm so confused!

I wouldn't bother with primer under BB cream tbh.

I'd do:

Moisturiser
SPF
BB cream
Loose powder

I'd do the tanning mist on a clean face, at a time when you don't need to add anything else to it. I tend to only do fake tan type things occasionally, so I wouldn't mix them with other products. Except tanning drops, which you can put in with your moisturiser.

Oh and time between:

I'd give the SPF a few mins to sink in and ditto the moisturiser. Nothing other than that.

Thanks @HummusAndCarrotSticks. So no need for primer? I don't know why but whatever moisturiser I use seems to take ages to get to a stage I can use make up on top.

Moisturiser... couple of minutes ... spf... at least 10 minutes.... bb cream.....loose powder.

I use a tanning mist at night, after my moisturiser has had a bit of time to sink in. I wouldn't use it before makeup, you will just smear it over your face and it will develop into a streaky tan.
Just spray it over and then don't touch your face for a few hours.

Moisturiser - leave a couple of mins
SPF - leave a couple of mins
Primer (better if you can get a combo SPF and primer as otherwise the primer can disturb the efficacy of chemical SPF)
Bb cream/foundation (as others have said - not sure you need primer for BB cream)
Loose powder (to remove shine)

At a whole other time:
Tanning mist - after cleanser, to create a fake tan. Assuming you mean the stuff that dyes your skin?

Very helpful - thank you all Flowers

Where does serum fit into the lineup?!

scalphelp · 09/03/2021 23:44

Serum is before moisturiser (but after cleansing)

Why you need to let products sit for a few minutes? I normally apply my skincare and go straight on with makeup Blush
