At the tender age of 37 if just started to get into makeup and I'm beginning to really enjoy the journey of trying new products, but I've come to a bit of a holt with foundation as I don't really know where to begin. I've been looking at all the reviews online but they're all so mixed and it's ended up just confusing me. From what I can gather the dior forever foundations are wonderful but I just can't justify spending £37 on foundation at the moment, so I'm hoping that the mn gurus can point me in the right direction to a good, long lasting, non drying foundation that is under £30. I do tend to have a dry t zone but other than that my skin is pretty forgiving in that Im not prone to acne and don't really have any blemishes, just ageing skin that needs a good base. I did have a quick search but the threads that came up were quite a few years old, so any experience will be really helpful Smile

Armani luminous silk is lovely and my skin looks^^ amazing but it's a bit heavier than I like for daytime and bloody expensive so I tend to use that for evening and The ordinary for daytime or if my skin is clear I sometimes just go with Trinny Miracle Blur with usual bronzer/blush.

Loving all the experience you are all sharing, I knew MN wouldn't let me down Smile
so I ordered the IT cc cream tester and maybelline fit me. I have to say I did not get on with the fit me, I tried it a couple of times to make sure it wasn't just an off day but I won't be getting that one again. I do really like the IT CC cream and I can see why there has been so much hype around it! I have found that it doesn't really last the day, even with setting spray so it's not quite perfect but I very my like the finish. I think I will try the EL double wear light next as it would be good to compare the two but i will save that purchase for when the counters are open and I can get the right shade, I've already spent a fortune on lipstick because we can't do testers and I keep getting the wrong colours Blush

I do think it’s worth pointing out (and repeating for those who already know this) that it isn’t a good idea to rely on your foundation/BB/CC for your spf, especially if you also regularly use a retinol skincare product. The amount you need to apply to get the full spf effect would make you look ridiculous. I just look at the spf in my IT Cosmetics CC cream (my foundation favourite) as a bonus on top of the LRP Anthelios I would already have applied.
