Slim fit trousers for a teenager

DD really hates shopping, & I'd like to get her some new trousers as part of her birthday present (I figure she can return them if they're not to her taste). She likes a slim but not super-skinny fit - these cords are her current go-to winter trousers.

She's got a couple of pairs of jeans-ish weight but coloured cotton trousers in a similar fit for warmer weather, but they're both really falling apart & I'm failing to find something similar. Any ideas very welcome! Her general look is slim fit trousers / funky tee / denim jacket (hence not jeans as double denim not her thing) DMs / lots of pins what I would call badges as I'm old

Urban Outfitters? The pic looks a bit like their look. Or H&M? Or Bershka?
Also, Gap do a lot of slim fit trousers. Your DD may hate Gap though; I know my DD would!
My DD likes a similar look and those are particular favourites.

How old is she and what size

Sadik · 04/03/2021 07:22

I've tried H&M & UO, but I hadn't thought of Gap, & don't know Bershka, I'll try them.

She's about to turn 19 and a size 6.

I just found some pics of her in 2017 wearing the same summer trousers which may be why they're a bit worn out!

Try Brandy Melville Jeans

Sadik · 04/03/2021 18:19

Aha! Brandy Melville definitely looks the business. Gap are sort-of-right but not quite IYKWIM, but I think that either these or these might go down well

@Sadik
Definitely those. I forgot about Brandy M. My DD loves those (just showed her) and I expect she’ll start hounding me to order them nowGrin

Sadik · 04/03/2021 20:09

I think I'll get her the first (lighter coloured) ones. Any other top tips for places to look? Would be nice to find something similar but lighter weight for coming into summer.

They came and style very good & meets with dd's approval. But sadly they are FAR too big. I guess I should have figured with being just two size options, but was imagining as a teen-friendly brand they'd probably be too long but cut skinny.

They fit me nicely though so I'm rather tempted to keep them for myself Grin

How annoying that they are too big. Maybe Hollister then? Their clothes come up small, as do H&M.
But you should definitely keep them if you like themGrin

Sadik · 12/03/2021 08:34

Oh, Hollister a good thought, I don't think either of us has looked at them - H&M sadly nothing that meets approval

Hollister has a sale on......

Sadik · 12/03/2021 14:04

Good timing! Any other recommendations for websites that come up small & might suit a fussy but very much not fashion forward teen with a fairly unisex look gratefully received :) (Tops/jackets/t-shirts etc she seems to find easier - Run&Fly, Cyberdog etc all hit the spot)

Hmmm; Pull and Bear?

Sadik · 17/03/2021 21:41

trousers just arrived from Monkii not right at all (not just dd being awkward, they don't fit well)

Back to the drawing board....

Bershka
Stradivarius
Lucy & Yak

Weekday

Sadik · 18/03/2021 20:01

Thanks RobinRose, I don't think L&Y are dd's style, but I'll check the others out :)
