I'm having a style overhaul...am I too old?

I was quite young when I had my children and feel that I became frumpy while I was juggling everything! I'm 36 now and now getting the time to find myself once more and I'm keen to find my style. I've always admired people who look punky, even a bit gothic (e.g. some of the less extreme clothes on websites such as killstar, attitude clothing, emp etc) and also love 50's/rockabilly type clothes. I'm worried that I'm too old for this style now and don't want to look ridiculous.

I'm short and a size 18, although I weightlift so quite muscular with broad shoulders. I am an apple shape naturally but made worse by diastasis recti. I love eyeliner and wear this in a cat eye style daily. My hair is shoulder length wavy and dyed pink at the moment. The style is a bit meh, and I tend to tie it back.

Help! Any suggestions for how I can style myself tastefully but dress with a style that I love. I tend to schlep about in skinny jeans, a plan tee and doc martens at the moment and want to find my look.

Just go for it!! As you are definitely still young.

Firstly, it's never too late. This was me last year and I have a few years on you. Wink

I had a style analysis which confirmed my body shape and what clothes suited me. She also told me what colours suit me and that has made a big difference. I'm still working on the wardrobe revamp, building up an idea of what styles I like using Pinterest.

Thanks guys! I think I'm worried about the association with that sort of style and teenagers! I don't want to look like I've pinched my kids clothes Confused

Are you too old? At your age? Fuck, no!

And, for the record, I know plenty of goths way older than you! Grin
