If you use tretinoin and have a bit of a 'tache...

... how the fuck do you remove your facial hair?

I've been using tretinoin for about 3 weeks now and last night thought I'd do a bit of beauty maintenance and get rid of my moustache and sideburns. Feel free to judge the fact that I didn't consider that using a hair removal cream when I've just started using essentially an acid on my face was a shit idea; I'm judging myself a lot. Anyway I used the same sensitive nair I've used for years and holy fuck my face is still burning now! I look like Amos or Seth from emmerdale farm but with a sunburn like rash in the place of hair.

Do wise ladies of S&B what do you use or do I have to make the choice between my skin and my moustache?

I've attached a fairly accurate likeness of my current state.

Epistick

Go get the cucumber!

HelloThereMeHearties · 27/02/2021 00:12

Weird - I'm using Tretinoin, and used Nair the other day, and it was fine.

Tretinoin isn't an acid like, say, glycolic acid. It doesn't strip your skin, it speeds up cell renewal.

Have you got any aloe vera? That might help. Or cucumber, as mentioned above.

Thank heavens for Covid masks!

(Maybe you can say your rash-beard is a bad reaction to a cheap mask ...?)

I use one of those threading tools. It works a treat. Very cheap on Amazon/EBay etc.
It does hurt though.

Same as @CimCardashian

Hurts sometimes more than others but not too bad if you keep on top of it with little and often

When the beauticians open back up I am going to have my face threaded.
