Fluffy collared jacket- are they really past their sell by date?

I have seen a lovely jacket but really am not sure about the fluffy collar. It is fitted ,brown with buckles and zips. The collar is not detachable but other than that I really like it.
Do you think the collar really dates it? Dd had a jacket with this type of collar about 3 years ago. Not that I am dead young and trendy (I wish)
