A good video for teaching how to TRIM my daughter’s very long and thick layered hair?

All the videos I can find are how to cut layers into hair, which (I don’t think?) is not what I want to do... she HAS layers, albeit quite messy and grown-out (not been cut for 7 months!!!) and for my first attempt I really want to take off as little as humanly possible (easier to ignore if it goes badly wrong... she is VERY uptight about her hair; well actually just uptight in general...)

Any good videos or advice? It’s easy enough to find ‘cut a little girl’s hair’ vids too but they all look like little neat bobs and she has hair (like mine) that will look like a backcombed mushroom if it’s bobbed or cut all-one-length. Fellow owners of thick wavy hair will know what I mean...

It’s looking so ratty and getting so tangled!! Way down past shoulder blades. We both love it long but it is WILD at the moment. My aim is to do a teeny trim and then another bigger trim if that one goes well (and then just pray hairdressers open in April, which I admit seems optimistic...!)

Pick up limes - u tube - channel

It is mostly vegan and sustainable focused videos.

She is a dietician and has the most beautiful hair.
She does a video on how she cuts her own layers
I copied her for just one layer to shape around my face
I was too scared to try any more
But it turned out really well
