Half decent running /sports leggings for a size 18, that don't cost £££?

IndecentFeminist · 13/02/2021 22:42

I need to do a bit more exercise, and could do with some decent leggings that can hold a size 18 in one place while allow for a bit of a workout/jog. While looking half respectable! Can't stretch to sweaty betty...any other recommendations?

Marks and Spencer’s Good Move stuff is good. I have a couple of pairs of their leggings and they fit well.

wellthatsunusual · 13/02/2021 22:45

I find Sainsbury's sports gear really good.

InglouriousBasterd · 13/02/2021 22:45

H and M high waisted in XL and surprisingly, New Look - Large - they’re fab

Littlepigsmig · 13/02/2021 22:48

I like the sports wear from Matalan. Good thick waistbands that don't fall down and they have side pockets on the legs for your phone, key etc.

OUGES Womens High Waist Pockets Yoga Pants Running Pants Workout Gym Leggings www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07X5VNYC1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_FKKT2H7MJZWW070C8CC1?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

I like these, they’re thick and have good pockets.

M&S Good Move are very similar to Sweaty Betty

FirmlyRooted · 14/02/2021 08:46

Second Sainsbury's. Bought some leggings recently and they're really good

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 14/02/2021 08:50

Good move from M&S, Tesco own brand and Decathlon stuff is at least as good as the £80 from Sweaty Betty or the like.

Bethanemethane · 14/02/2021 08:51

Decathlon running leggings are very good quality for supermarket price. I get on well with them and run regularly - they last years.

AuntieStella · 14/02/2021 08:54

Decathlon - own brands

Easily the best VFM - and really high performance (you'd be seeing oodles of their stuff at parkrun and all other running events, if only they were happening)

Good fabrics (don't go see thru), good fit, pockets, drawstrings

ExplodingCarrots · 14/02/2021 08:56

Tikiboo . They're middle of the road price wise between sweaty Betty and supermarket. They're high waist, not see though and very comfy.

LunaNorth · 14/02/2021 08:57

Their own brand stuff is called DHB and it’s excellent quality and really good value. I recommend it to everyone.

Newfor2021 · 14/02/2021 09:11

I bought an amazing pair in Primark and I’m a fan of ‘real’ sportswear brands normally, but these are better than my high end sports ones.

Bearsbearsbears40 · 14/02/2021 09:12

Ron Hills. You can get them on Amazon.

AuntieStella · 14/02/2021 09:12

Agree - Wiggle is very good

Returns policy excellent, and a mini packet of haribo in every order!

BallsToYouSue · 14/02/2021 09:23

I haven't done it myself, but lots of people seem to sign up to Fabletics, get two pairs of leggings for £24 and then cancel immediately so they don't end up with a pair of leggings every month. Who wants a pair of leggings every month? I genuinely don't know! But that's by the by.

beckslovestimmy · 14/02/2021 09:32

Sturdy By Design. Really nice patterns, definitely not see through. Stay up really well.

PedrosPony · 14/02/2021 09:57

I have two from next which I love. Emma Willis ones are fantastic, high waisted, stay put! I bought a 12, more like a 14 these days and they still fit like a glove.

paradyning · 14/02/2021 10:58

GoodMove are definitely like sweaty Betty.
You need ones with a drawstring waist to hold them up. I say this as a fellow 18!

fellrunner85 · 14/02/2021 11:02

Decathlon! @AuntieStella is correct, as ever. Great quality stuff (a million times better than the fashion/supermarket brands on here), but at supermarket prices.

And as Decathlon stuff is designed for actually exercising in, it tends to come with useful stuff like key pockets. Unlike "athleisure" stuff which is more designed for lounging about.
