Hair dye on top of hair dye?

I used a temporary hair dye yesterday. A purple-ish one, like this but temporary: www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/Product/schwarzkopf-live-intense-colour-urban-metallics-u69-amethyst-chrome

It's barely showing up on my hair (probably my fault; I have long hair and should have bought two boxes) and looks really meh.

What will happen if I put another dye on top of it? Am I asking for it to turn green and fall out, or could I get a stronger colour by using another box of the same, or a stronger purple?

If your hair didn't take the colour, I'm guessing it's too dark, and it's not going to take the colour any more successfully the next time, unless you lighten it.

It could be too dark, or it might be that I just didn't have enough dye to cover it all properly. It's mid-back length, and it's been so long since I did an at-home dye I forgot I should buy two boxes!

It could be that then! I'd put more on, personally, but I like to play fast and loose with my hair.

I suppose the good thing about working from home is nobody has to see me if it does turn green and fall out Grin

It won't turn green Grin

What colour is your hair before the purple?

HeyDemonsItsYaGirl · 12/02/2021 14:16

It's mid/dark brown, Cric.

It could just be too dark
