I need some winter clothes. Would anyone like to find me some?

Help!

I did find a long cardigan I liked in M&S (I know, I know).

I'll try and find a link.

Other than that, I need nice things to wear. Layers, for preference.

I am shortish, norkish and wear jeans too often.

quite like cardi as it looks warm and cosy would you get a lot of wear out of it?

What size are you and what colouring are you?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/10/2007 22:40

this one is better for you, mrs norkage

hunkermunker · 31/10/2007 22:40

Clothes for:

Being a mum.

Being a colleague.

Being a wife.

Being a going out lady wot has dinner with friends in the evening.

Atm I have clothes that fit into all categories and I have a sneaking suspicion that that's not very grown up [wears jeans on thread too]

ooh that reminds me....i need to email you

snowleopard · 31/10/2007 22:41

Hmmm like the sleeves, that's about all, sorry.

I like Jigsaw and gap for little layery tops. Kew for cardies, zara for jumpers. White stuff for nice flattering A-line skirts to wear instead of jeans (love jeans though). Wear with tights and boots.

hunkermunker · 31/10/2007 22:42

I like that cardigan, VVV, but the one I linked to is more coat-like.

Ooh, I don't have a coat either. Well, I do, but I have a penchant for buying absurd coats and I'd like a sensible one...but still v nice. And not too bulky. The combination of shortish and norkish makes me look like I ought to be tumbling over Niagara with an optimistic escapologist up my top if I'm not careful.

frilly
woolly
droopy
NOOOOOOO

collision · 31/10/2007 22:43

I am into Principles at the moment.

Bought a trouser suit for work and a new winter coat which can be dressed up or down.

Am going to bed but will pick this up tomorrow.

hunkermunker · 31/10/2007 22:45

Collision, thank you!

Squishie But I tried it on and I loved it I think the model must be wearing it wrong...

scoop front tops good and keeping your neck visible helps, how long is your hair?

squishie · 31/10/2007 22:50

if you are a bit (ahem) squat that won't help. and per una is generally a bit too overwrought.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/10/2007 22:51

this is nice

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/10/2007 22:52

scoop neck

snowleopard · 31/10/2007 22:53

Oh "overwrought" squishie - that's exactly the right word! Whenever I see per una stuf I think "that would be nice if it had a bit less going on."

hunkermunker · 31/10/2007 22:53

My hair is to my bra strap. I'm having it cut a week on Saturday though, but not all that much, I don't think.

I'm not exactly squat - am I VVV?

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 31/10/2007 22:54

I don't think the cardigan is a Per Una one. I agree it looks a bit frilly. It is nicer in RL though, honest.

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 31/10/2007 22:55

I like those tops, VVV - I like the neckline on the black and white one and the colours of the other one.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/10/2007 22:57

Well, er....umm......no. Not against the rest of the world.

this style coat suits your shape

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/10/2007 22:59

shorter length

hunkermunker · 31/10/2007 23:00

Are you saying I have a great waistline, VVV?

Or that I can fake one?!

I DO like that coat though. But given my track record of coat-buying... I have one I call my "lion" coat. Another one makes me look like the penguin from Happy Feet...

Oh, fgs, I'm so embarrassing. The children aren't going to want to be seen with me VERY soon...!

OP posts:
squishie · 31/10/2007 23:00

NO NO NO PER UNA IS the devil's work. v sorry re squat but we must be realistic.

i am a size 18 in shoulders and 12 in hips which sounds ok but looks very silly with enormous tum.
