Best shampoo and conditioner for wavy hair that is prone to frizz

I tried the Noughty hello waves and it made my hair look like straw and smelt like toilet cleaner. I've ordered some cantu and ogx. Are they any good? What have you found that works best? I think I have 2a hair.

Noughty destroyed my hair and it’s taken about 6 months to get back to normal! I’ve got 2C waves/curls.

There’s loads of curly/wavy Facebook groups that are helpful.

Cantu might be a bit heavy for your hair but might be okay, it depends which products. At the moment I’m cowashing and conditioning with the garnier banana hair food conditioner (the stuff in the tubs not the bottles) and about once a fortnight I clarify with with child’s farm shampoo (does have sulphates but the least harsh kind, I mostly use it because it’s what I’ve got in for the kids and I don’t want to buy any more products!) I don’t use a leave-in as it weighs my hair down but I use the Giovanni gel scrunched in when my hair is soaking wet then once it’s dried I scrunch it again to get rid of any ‘crunchiness’

I find a good gel is the best step for avoiding frizz, I’m also going to try some glycerin-free products one I’ve run out of the conditioner I’m using to see if that helps minimise frizz even more
