Long trousers for a tall very skinny 10 year old

Hello. I hope it’s ok to post in this forum. My DD is 10.5 and very tall and very skinny (on the lowest centile for her age!). She eats like a horse but is just very naturally skinny and tall! We have terrible trouble finding trousers to fit her that don’t finish well above her ankles, or that fall down at the waist! For length she would probably be in at least age 12 but they are too big for her waist. Even M&S with adjustable waists on the tightest settings are too big.

Some shops do school trousers in different lengths, but we need casual trousers, joggers and jeans for her.

Does anyone know of any shops that do a longer length or have any ideas?

Thanks!

H&m! My DD, DSD and I are all skinny and leggy and H&m is the GP to for us. No need to buy long length, the regular size trousers are much longer than standard.

Thank you @Callcat - I stopped buying H&M a while ago because I found they weren’t long enough for her, but will try again and try some other styles. They are definitely skinny enough!

I have same problem with my DD (13). I've started buying her leggings from tall ranges. Asos and New Look both do a tall range in small sizes (I think starting at a ladies size 6). Check the measurements on the size guide. You may find some of the stretchier things like leggings and jogging bottoms fit your DD. I really wish more shops did tall/skinny ranges for kids.

Oh and Polarn O Pyret have adjustable waist bands in their leggings and they are reasonably long. I've got a whole bundle of them that my DD has outgrown. I need to put them on ebay.

Hollister do a long leg and different waist sizes for jeans, not sure if they will be small enough for your dd though.. Zara girls are generally pretty long and have adjustable waists too.

Thanks everyone - will try those. Actually never even thought of ASOS and Zara so will have a look. Zara women’s trousers are always really long I seem to remember!

My daughter has the same issue. I find French brands fit well. Slightly harder at the moment.

Newgirls · 03/02/2021 12:21

Italian and French brands are the ones you want. Tall skinny women!

Espirit, benneton etc zara and H&M usually good but I think you have to look for long ranges

Yes to ASOS and also try Topshop for jeans and leggings. It’s been ages since I last shopped there but I if I recall their tall jeans/ leggings starts at a size 4.
