Here is the skirt. Mustard, cream, black, dark grey, light grey, and a bit of white, too.

i would go for the mustard colour although possibly hard to match?

NotQuiteCockney · 30/10/2007 17:46

I don't own anything mustard.

I am thinking black, dark grey. Maybe red? I'd like to wear green with it, but then I own 7 billion pale green shirts and always want to wear green.

Is that dark brown in it? Either that or black.

NotQuiteCockney · 30/10/2007 18:14

No dark brown, only grey, black, etc etc.

black then. you could get away with a bit of red (accessories say) but not pale green.

NotQuiteCockney · 30/10/2007 18:17

I really need to stick to only buying things that go with pale green.

I'd go for a black top and have a look about and see if you could get a mustard chiffon scarf (theres quite abit of mustard about at the mo) to go with it.

CorpseBrideOfJohnCusack · 30/10/2007 18:46

the red that's on the right hand side of the picture would go

as would the dark brown

dexter73 · 30/10/2007 18:50

I have this top from Oasis which might go with it but might not be a deep enough mustard.

southeastastra · 30/10/2007 18:58

silvery grey

BrownSuga · 30/10/2007 19:43

cream

NotQuiteCockney · 30/10/2007 21:34

The red on the right side I think is a distortion of the colour of the skirt? Or a picture on my wall.

I don't wear cream next to my face, don't own silvery grey, although I could imagine it suiting me.

Nice looking mustard top, but you're right, it might not be dark enough.

I don't really want to buy more clothes, I just want the skirt I bought to slot in with existing clothes!

you so need to get your colours done. there is a lot of waffle and waving around of scarves in many colours, then you are given a little wallet of samples and some rules and £80 is taken.

but you'd KNOW the answer to what would go with the skirt on you. or whether you should have bought the skirt in the first place which i think may be underlying here.

shreddies · 30/10/2007 21:44

I love that skirt. I'd wear black with it, but I do wear a lot of black

NotQuiteCockney · 31/10/2007 07:07

Well, I do like the skirt, but I used to be quite limited in what colours I bought and wore. Recently I've been drifting a bit more with colours, which is nice.

Black in winter with boots. Cream in summer.

FrannyandZooey · 31/10/2007 07:32

LOLOL just got the picture up

ds went "WHAT'S THAT????"

I said "it is (NQC's name)'s skirt

Ds said "it is VERY silly"

good lord you would have thought he would have got used to mad skirts by now

I think it is beautiful and dp said "mmm, nice"

I think dark red would be lovely

NotQuiteCockney · 31/10/2007 09:01

I will have to try things. Think I will wear this skirt to go clubbing on Saturday, maybe (black fishnets, black shoes, black top? Or maybe red)

OP posts:
manechangingregular · 31/10/2007 09:08

black

Tatties · 31/10/2007 09:15

I would wear a black top with that.

I like it, it looks familiar. Where is it from?

NotQuiteCockney · 31/10/2007 10:24

Topshop. Don't think it's still in shops, though, I bought it in early October.

If you don't wear cream next to your face, then I don't think mustard would be a good idea either. In fact I think only olive-skinned mediterranean types can wear yellow shades next to the face.

I would wear black or grey - but then I'm desperately bad at co-ordinating clothes and a bit too conservative.

NotQuiteCockney · 31/10/2007 10:35

I can wear sunny yellow, no problem. And orange is fine. But mustard I'm not sure about. Cream is the only colour that's an absolute no-go for me, it makes me look recently deceased.

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 04/11/2007 07:50

Wore it with black, it looked good. But my MIL complimented it, which alarmed me.
