Sosandar. A lot of money for a lot of polyester?

I've been getting a lot of pop ups for Sosandar, but all the items I quite like the look of seem to be either 100% polyester or viscose. Are there different quality levels of polyester and viscose? Or is it all the same? Because otherwise there's no way I'm splashing out £65 on a dress when I can get a similar one in New Look for £30!

I’d be interested in this too.

No idea about polyester but there’s definitely different quality levels of viscose. Viscose is a semi natural fabric derived from wood pulp and can be made to resemble different textures, like georgette and satin for example. A good example of very good viscose is Ghost London. Their clothing is beautifully made and almost all 100% viscose. The weights and textures of the fabric differ and all drape beautifully. But, they’re very expensive and so you’d expect the quality to be excellent. Not so sure about Sosandar specifically though.

I have noticed the same pop ups and saw a few pieces I like. But would also like some first-hand feedback before buying.

That's good to know about viscose, thanks @Judashascomeintosomemoney (love the name btw).

I bought a dress from them in the sale. It's a blue leopard print floaty type affair.
I love it. And I got it for less than half price.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 23/01/2021 14:49

Viscose is actually a nice fabric. Soft and floaty and not sticky or sweaty like polyester

Lilypad78 · 23/01/2021 16:01

I have bought a few things from here & so far they have all been really nice, decent quality. I got a great casual dress in soft Jersey fabric that I pretty much lived in last summer & it has washed really well.

LooseMooseHoose · 23/01/2021 16:05

I bought a pleather skirt from them via John Lewis that I love. It's cut very nicely. I'd definitely buy from them again

Liking80 · 23/01/2021 17:04

I've had a few bits, feel that the cut and flow of the clothes are a better quality than the likes of New Look. I've mainly bought in the sales or when there is 20% off as also feel at full price the stuff is expensive.

Thanks everyone that's really helpful.

I ordered jeans from there they were a terrible fit. I also bought a dress which is ok but not the most flattering

I have a zip up denim dress and a polka dot jumpsuit. Both are lovely, well worth the money
