Tiffany Necklace

So, I posted last week asking for recommendations for silver jewellery. Loads of lovely suggestions, thank you.
DD is going to be 16 and really wanted a Return to Tiffany pendant necklace. It was way out of our price range.
We've had a good think and decided just to go for it.
My question is... you buy the pendant separately to the chain. Would it be awful ( and cheap) to just buy charm and get ready chain from somewhere cheaper?. £65 for a plain silver chain ( and a very fine, delicate one at that) seems eye watering!.
I'd use the extra money that I'd saved to upgrade to the bigger charm.
Any advice or experience please?.

Hahaha it didn't sound smug. You made me laugh. Thats the plan, order the first bit and if it fits on the chain I'll keep it. If not, I'll have the chain and order the Tiffany one.
Thanks again.

Just a thought...would you consider vintage Tiffany? There are lots of authentic pieces from good sellers that look like new at a fraction of the price.

I got my dd16 a chain for xmas. She loves it and didn’t know until I told her it was not brand new.
