Wanting to buy retirides/retinol online, has anyone tried vitaminaskincream.com?

I looked at farmaciaenendorra.com, which is the one I've found before that ships abroad. But they do charge 20 euro for it so I was googling idly and came across this shop that claims to sell at a flat rate (no separate shipping costs) www.vitaminaskincream.com/. But I have to say I think it looks a little dodgy. Has anyone bought from them and can attest or not to their legitimacy?

I don't think it looks dodgy. I think pharmacy geoff looks really dodgy but people on here use it with success.

Would you be better off buying multiple tubes from the one you are familiar with to keep the shipping down?

Anotheruser02 · 12/01/2021 14:04

Oh I've never used them btw, just think I wouldn't question it if I were. I use Dermatica.

banivani · 12/01/2021 14:08

Really? I'm very suspiscious, there's no useful "about us" or anything, just "we exist honest guv and we sell stuff" - no address, no contact info except a form ...

I was thinking of buying two tubes but when summer comes I'll probably take a break so didn't want to over-purchase IYSWIM.

I wouldn't buy from there, it looks dodgy. Go for a Dermatica prescription if you want real tretinoin, or The Ordinary for retinols/retinoids.

banivani · 13/01/2021 07:58

I'm not in the UK so Dermatica is not an option and I don't rate The Ordinary's retinols (have tried them). I want to try the real deal baby but I also don't mind getting the best possible deal. Grin

I'm going to buy from farmacia Andorra..I've never heard of them until now. I think I might have missed buying my retitrides more than my trip to Spain Sad

banivani · 13/01/2021 08:19

Haha northernsoul that's the kind of shallowness I can get behind. I'd be in agony at having to pay all that extra money though when I'm used to buying it at regular otc prices!

banviani I'm down to my last half tube! ShockI did see one on The Ordinary for 11.90 don't know if anyone has tried that one?.

banivani · 13/01/2021 08:36

I've tried The Ordinary retinols and noticed nothing really, so I gave them up. They're not rated highly on the dedicated skincare threads either. I doubt you'd see anything if you're used to the actual, medical cream?

I think I will go for the online retirides one then.

banivani · 13/01/2021 10:15

I'm sitting here dithering still because I am so so cheap and hate spending big sums of money in one go.

Don't forget to worry about possible extra Brexit fees, northernsoul!

Northernsoullover · 13/01/2021 10:58

Oh no I'd forgotten about Brexit. If I can make it to Spain this year you can be damn sure I'm buying 4 tubes.

banivani · 13/01/2021 12:31

I'm thinking that if I buy say three tubes which with shipping will cost muchos dineros, it's a fecking guarantee that we'll holiday in Spain this year (magical thinking).

I’m in Ireland but my son is in uk so I get dermatica sent to their address and they then post it onto me. It ends up €26 a month. I know everyone has their budget but I find it great and it’s cheaper than going to a dermatologist in Ireland and what they charge for a monthly supply.
Do you have anyone in the uk who could send it to you? I waited until I had a few months together so I’m not annoying them every month to send it.

lindyloo57 · 07/01/2022 17:32

Usely buy mine in Spain when on holiday, I was going to buy from the farmacia you mentioned but £20 p&p put me off, I did buy from the ordinary, but because I've been using the real thing I didn't feel it did anything, hopefully will get to Spain this summer buy some. Not sure about stocking up on 3 tubes, as the last tube I purchased only had 1year expiry date.

Irishlass1 · 08/01/2022 10:59

How long would a tube normally last? Do you put it on your neck and back of your hands? In Ireland .05% is the strongest I’ve been able to get from my doctor, that’s when I found dermatica. I do have friends that go to Spain and I could ask them to get it for me.

kingat · 08/01/2022 11:01

Just checked my email to be sure. Yes I bought from them. It is actually a lady in spain. I remember paying direcrly to her account.

lindyloo57 · 08/01/2022 12:20

I made a tube last just over the year, but had the strongest 1% so could only use a tiny amount on my face, my neck wouldn't tolerate it, when I buy some more will go back to the .05%

Irishlass1 · 08/01/2022 13:03

It took my neck a long time to tolerate tretinion and it was really sore at times. I started off with.05% for six months at least before I went to 1%. I found vitamin c in the morning made my skin more tolerant. I do have extremely sensitive skin. Try .05% for a while or put a moisturiser on before the cream and it will help with sensitivity until your skin can handle it.
