Now bear in mind I'm 5ft 8in tall, so said dress comes to mid-thigh length - would i look like tart/miss whiplash?

Would bare legs be ok or black tights to minimise exposed look?

Are you sure dres will come to mid thigh? It doesn't look short on the mode, she would be at least your height, non?

I think its dead nice. If you've got nice brown pins, go bare!

themoon66 · 26/10/2007 21:58

I tried it on in Next. It is short on me. My pins are as white as two pints of milk

Lovely!! Not Miss Whiplash at all..don't think it would be mid thigh though, I'm 5'8 and Next dresses always fit me o.k.

Definately brown bare legs or nude tights though.

CadaverousCorpulentCarmenere · 26/10/2007 22:00

If that is made from quite tough and heavy fabric I think it will look great and I would second that the model is probably at least 5ft8.

ThePhantomToiletFlusher · 26/10/2007 22:01

Get some really sheer, lightly tanned tights if your legs are scarily white.

berolina · 26/10/2007 22:01

Not my thing, but no Miss Whiplash effect IMO. Go for it

CadaverousCorpulentCarmenere · 26/10/2007 22:03

I would wear black opaque tights but apparently most on mn think that this is a no no
I hate barely black or tan tights

berolina · 26/10/2007 22:04

Carmenere, I'm with you on opaques. I wear nothing but.

themoon66 · 26/10/2007 22:05

Yes, I do like opaques too. And it definitely IS mid-thigh coz I tried it on.

OP posts:
UnionJack · 26/10/2007 22:05

I think opaques are trendier than sheers. Some coloued shoes would be cool! Or silver.

UnionJack · 26/10/2007 22:05

Coloured

MingMingtheWonderPet · 26/10/2007 22:07

V lovely

TheEvilDediderata · 26/10/2007 22:08

I'm not keen. It doesn't look great on a posturing model, tbh.

Something less static?

ThePhantomToiletFlusher · 26/10/2007 22:09

Black Opaques would go well with this dress too I reckon, but think they might look dodgy with anything other than black shoes.

Feel free to ignore this advice by the way as I never go out. Sob.

themoon66 · 26/10/2007 22:10

TheEvilDediderata - Thats what DH said.

Feel free to ignore as I am not a fashionista but ...
Like the dress but don't like the idea of it with opaque tights.
But, go with it if you like it!

TheEvilDediderata · 26/10/2007 22:17

Well, men are often right on these matters ...

I'm sure you won't look like a tart, but the material doesn't look great. And when is this do? You'll be fucking freezing, surely?

themoon66 · 26/10/2007 22:18

right... so it's to be sheer, natural tights. I will go to Next tomorrow, drag DH with me, and get him to pay for dress

OP posts:
themoon66 · 26/10/2007 22:19

TheEvilDediderata - the do is a works do, in mid-December. I won't freeze coz am Northern

OP posts:
TheEvilDediderata · 26/10/2007 22:55

As am I, but northern or not, goosebumps are goosebumps

themoon66 · 26/10/2007 23:06

Ah'll be boyed up on voddie luv!

OP posts:
TheEvilDediderata · 26/10/2007 23:15

Good! But just don't do that push up yer tit thing whilst talking with no words coming out

And don't wear tights then ... if you're that 'ard ..

puffling · 26/10/2007 23:24

Don't like top half, dull and Nextish.
