Ok so I've heard good things. Just bought a small bottle of no3. It's bloody expensive but wouldn't be adverse to doing it again if it works. I've long hair so I reckon I'll get 2/3 treatments out of it ?
So I just apply it to wet hair in the bath, leave it for 10 mins and rinse? Am I missing anything ? Is there a better way to do it and how often do you use it ?

Do you need all 1-7 steps ??

hMG206 · 09/01/2021 09:51

No you definitely don’t kale. (Would be an absolute bloody fortune as well lol)

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 09/01/2021 10:08

I use 3/4/5 and 6.

3 treatment pre washing

4 is shampoo

5 is conditioner

6 is leave in treatment

You only need a tiny amount of everything. My hair is really long, it all lasts ages.

Yazoop · 09/01/2021 10:19

My hairdresser says that ola 3 doesn’t need to be used every week - you get great effect from doing it once or twice a month (unless you’ve got very damaged hair).

Just echoing others on only needing a small amount - I’ve got long hair and I definitely don’t need a third of a bottle! A little goes a long way. If I put too much of 3/4/5 on I find it very hard to wash out completely and it leaves a residue. The upside is, although it is pricey, it lasts a fair while!

teenytrees

Just out of interest, why do you add VitE. I am asking because I have a bottle of VitE that I use on my face.

teenytrees · 09/01/2021 21:44

@TwentyTwentyOne I saw someone on here saying they mixed it with oil and left it on overnight.
I happen to have a bottle of vitamin E oil so I thought it was worth a try - there's no science or logic behind it, but it seems to work. Grin

My hairdresser said I should buy the number 2 and leave it in. I've never tried though! Does it make sure a huge difference?

hMG206 · 09/01/2021 23:20

No, that’s not right. Number 2 is made specifically for use after number 1 unrinsed. This is why these two are supposed to be salon use only.

RacheyCat · 10/01/2021 03:57

@hMG206

No, that’s not right. Number 2 is made specifically for use after number 1 unrinsed. This is why these two are supposed to be salon use only.
Number 2 says on the bottle, "after shampooing lightener or rinsing colour from hair, towel dry"

Then add a generous amount of number 2 to damp hair and leave on for at least 20 mins. So it's not for using unrinsed, at least according to their instructions.

RacheyCat · 10/01/2021 03:59

As far as I can tell, by making number one and two "for professional use only", they can charge us for in-salon treatments, and then flog a tiny bottle of number 3, which is a weaker number 2 for use at home, thus doubling their money.

TwentyTwentyOne · 10/01/2021 10:27

Oooo, I might try that teenytrees.

hMG206 · 11/01/2021 18:53

@RacheyCat that’s the idea all along, I do think some salons charge ridiculous prices as well.

Bananaman123 · 11/01/2021 22:53

I bought the holiday set with 3 4 5 and 6. So far im not loving it. I have bleached flyaway fine hair.
3 i think its an ok treatment but no more than other treatments i have
4 it reminds me of fairy liquid, its smells like it and lathers too much, takes forever to wash out and i never feel like i get it all out
5 its an ok conditioner and not much needed
6 meh, i find it quite heavy on my hair even using a small amount, tried it on wet and dry but dont see the benefit
I f i use all 4 my hair feels heavy and i dont get that clean, just washed feeling. My roots also seem to be more oily by night time.

I get on with Philip Kingsley products and feel ghd split end therapy as well as john frieda detox spray do a better job overall than olaplex. Maybe scientifically it isnt but i like the result better. Oh and i forgot redken so a good anti snap range

Snackz · 11/01/2021 23:18

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie

What is it? Sounds complicated!
@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie glad it's not just me Grin
MrDarcysMa · 13/01/2021 23:21

Phew I did it a few days ago (forgot to report back)
I only have no 3, used a lot less than I thought I'd need so I'm not too outraged by the price now. Hair feels good. I mean it's not miraculously healed but it feels like I've had a good conditioning treatment.
Plan on using it again in 2 weeks or so then maybe once a month after that. (I slept in it because why not it's lockdown)

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 13/01/2021 23:46

Glad it’s helped. Keep at it, I’m sure it will have a cumulative impact, especially after a trim. My hairdresser is evangelical about it. She’s been raving about the condition of mine since she told me to use it!
