Recommend a BB cream or similar for older skin

I’m 47. I’ve always had acne prone pale blotchy skin with some permanent red marks. I’ve always used quite heavy cream based foundations to cover up.

However, now I’m showing my age and my skin has become drier and more wrinkly and heavy foundations look terrible on me now. I also want to show more of my natural skin tones now because they suit me better than artificial tones - I just don’t want to cover up any more the way I used to.

But I’m still conscious of the red marks and I want a product that moisturises and offers sun protection.

Can anyone recommend something for me?

I’m 50 with dry skin. I don’t tend to find tinted moisturisers or BB creams are moisturising enough for me and the ones I’ve used have only offered SPF15. I always moisturise before applying the BB cream. I tend to wear Heliocare360 fluid cream which has an SPF of 50. It is light and gives quite a matt finish. If I want a boost I also use Bobbi Brown Bare Glow. As far as the cream goes they discontinued the one I like so I’ve been using Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturiser. I’ve also recently started to experiment with Glossier and have tried and liked their Perfecting Skin Tint. It comes in a duo with Stretch concealer which I really like with it. The Glossier gives slightly less coverage but it’s really natural looking. I use it at home when I still want to feel presentable. I don’t think I even have a proper foundation now it’s been so long since I used one.

I have a few broken veins on my cheeks and the concealer covers these in addition to lightening my under eye shadows and neutralising my pink eye lids.

have a look at Erborian OP. I absolutely love their BB cream

I don’t know your budget, but No 7 BB cream comes in a dry skin version, it’s very moisturising. About £14. Also it’s nice to mix in a little bit of highlighter (I like L’Oréal Glow Cherie) You would still want to use spf underneath, but the BB cream is SPF15.

I really like NYX tinted moisturiser which also is pleasantly moisturising, but the coverage is very light.

I use Nars, Bare Minerals and for fuller coverage IT Cosmetics. Just to say I would never rely on a tinted moisturiser to moisturise or sun protection. I use those first before applying a tinted moisturiser which effectively just means sheer foundation.

Oh yes, I agree with TableNiner, I use moisturiser and spf underneath.
