Balayge on poker straight hair?

My hair is long, thin, medium brown and poker straight.

When we're eventually allowed back to hair salons, I am considering a balayage.

When Googling images for inspiration, all the photos are of curled/wavy hair and the results are lovely.
I only curl my hair on the odd occasion as I just don't have the time to style it everyday.

Anyone else with poker straight hair who has had a balayage?

Does a balayage still look good on poker straight hair?

I have balayage hair and am rubbish at curling my own hair so always wear it straight.

Mine is straight and I have balayage. It's also quite short (chin length Bob) and looks great! I agree though, all the photos online are of long tumbling curls, but it still looks nice on shorter or straight hair.

My hair is shorter now and looks similar to this

I have straight long hair and have balayage. Gets lots of compliments. The curls just show off the colours more

I can just about manage to stretch it out and only have it done 3 times a year, I used to have to go to the hairdressers more when I just had blonde highlights.
Now I have a few grey hairs that are creeping in so I can get away with spraying those bits with root touch up. Especially when hair salons were closed during lockdown and I missed an appointment.
Takes ages at the salon though, usually about 4-5 hours in total.

Mine is similar length and colour to @Monkeytapper's picture. I have it done about 3 times a year as I'm lazy but last had it done July. Just before Christmas I went a bit mad and balayaged it myself as I wanted it lighter. It took a while to do as I used 2 colours with foils and the weaving technique for highlights like my hairdresser does but I'm really pleased with it.

Mine is poker straight too, dark brown and quite long. Never curled. And I have a caramel/honey balayage which really lifts my face. Love it and get loads of compliments. Make sure you get some bits lightened around your face too!

Thanks ladies.. you've all convinced me to go for it!

Now to wait for lockdown to be lifted
... Hmm sigh
