...underwear. Mine is old / knackered / sagging (horribly like the rest of me Grin) so I am after your recommendations please. Like many people, I'm not in quite the shape I would like to be and let's pretend it's all lockdown's fault... I am a 16, not big busted, but broad of rib cage/shoulders. Where should I look for underwear that will make me feel like I'm actually taking care of myself?

Sainsbury's is my go to!

PeachesBright · 26/12/2020 23:23

If you don't mind spending a bit more.. Boux Avenue do some really nice underwear.

CatherineMaitland · 27/12/2020 09:30

A well-made bra that fits perfectly makes the biggest difference for me.

Other than that M&S Rosie/Autograph underwear has some nice silky things for a treat.

Audreyseyebrows · 27/12/2020 09:33

Boux avenue is not too expensive and has some nice bits to try different shapes/styles.
I love underwear. I can be in a vile mood, look scruffy on the outside but I know I have pretty underwear on! It’s for me, no one else.

2020nymph · 27/12/2020 09:35

I'm thinking the same. I did a big boux Avenue order earlier in the year but nothing fit so it all went back. 😔

Have you checked you BoB measurements?

Post BFing by boobs have almost disappeared so struggling to find bras to give me some shape.

MacbookHoHoHo · 27/12/2020 09:35

My DH always buys me underwear on special occasions. 😂 This year he got me a really pretty set from La Senza, online. So comfy too, which is rare. Cute boy shorts with a matching bra. Genuinely nice, not tacky.

MutteringDarkly · 27/12/2020 09:38

I wouldn't have thought of most of those places, thank you Smile

I felt like you did a couple of years ago. I’ve got a thread on here somewhere about being in a horrible slump. I ended up joining WW, losing 4 stone, getting a new part-time job, starting a course in something I’ve always wanted to do, and chopping 4” off my hair. I feel reborn!

You can definitely improve how you feel. For me, the biggest changes happened when I took control of my food. Once you like your body again, everything else follows.

Good luck, OP! Here’s to a lovely 2021.

FusionChefGeoff · 27/12/2020 09:40

My underwear is the same as yours so I can't give you any help there but I just wanted to congratulate you on putting you first and taking such a lovely step to make yourself feel fabulous. SmileSmile

Victoria's Secret is pretty, well made and not at all skimpy stuff made for tiny girls. It's good quality and hard wearing too.

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 27/12/2020 10:25

Make sure you get a proper fitting for your actual size. I went to a local lingerie place and she was spot on. I'm a 34F but in a lot of high street places I was measuring as 36D! I would also recommend the BoB system of measuring. An ill fitting bra is never going to look good regardless of where you bought it. However I love Figleaves for underwear, they do everything from practical to glam.

MutteringDarkly · 03/01/2021 17:03

Reporting in: I tried figleaves and bought two new structured bras, and two soft bralettes by Sloggi. Everything fits and looks about a billion times better than my old stuff!

Next: pants Grin
