Fit bit for Christmas - but I am a bracelet wearer.

I love my bracelets, layering them up etc. Not sure it really fits with my aesthetic.
Totally get why he got it me, am getting into running, but really do I not need to be wearing it all the time to make it worth having? I also can’t wear anything on my wrist for work, so that’s another occasion I won’t be getting use out of it. Do I get him to send it back? They are quite expensive for something I put on purely for when I do exercise. Is the point that you wear them all day to track your activity?

You can get little clips so the Fitbit attaches to clothing or in necklaces. Would something like that be suitable?

AcornAutumn · 25/12/2020 20:36

If you want to track your activity all day, you can get a bracelet looking strap.

But if you don’t want it and don’t use it, ask for it to be sent back.

If you think it will be useful for running, great. But I originally got one for that, when it broke I didn’t really care and the interface just bangs on about crap. Plus I now realise a tracking device isn’t for me.

I swapped my fit bit strap for a leather look one so it looks less like a fitness tracker and more like a standard watch. You can get various straps online both from fitbit and other online retailers

CeibaTree · 25/12/2020 20:43

Take it out of the bracelet and keep it in your pocket?

FelicityBeedle · 25/12/2020 20:45

A lot of staff at my hospital wear it on their ankles full time

M0nstermunch · 25/12/2020 20:46

Which one is it. You can get different metal straps to look more watch like.

ScrapThatThen · 25/12/2020 20:47

Why don't you tell him it was actually really thoughtful but you can't wear it at work so wouldn't be able to track daily steps so you'd rather return it. It's tough though and might seem ungrateful. Depends on your relationship.

Didyousaynutella · 25/12/2020 21:09

He wouldn’t mind me sending it back. We are pretty honest. He properly treated me and bought a bunch of lovely layering bracelets so will just say I can only wear one or the other and the bracelets won. I don’t wear a watch either. It’s the fit bit charge 4. I think it looks ugly as sin! I think I would end up washing or losing it if I had on a clip or in my pocket. Not sure if it would just annoy me on my ankle. He got me the purple one. Shame he didn’t get the black and he could have had it.

Just looked up that model

It’s not a model that would go well with a bracelet strap!

Sounds a perfect way to say it.

Do Nike still do the Nike+ wearable that goes in your running shoe? Might work better for you.

Confusedandshaken · 26/12/2020 11:03

I switched my Fitbit strap for a rose gold metal strap which goes well with my one bracelet.

@Confusedandshaken

I switched my Fitbit strap for a rose gold metal strap which goes well with my one bracelet.
Similar to what I had but it was a much thinner Fitbit.
