Help I've took it all off now its gone all stubbly and itchy!!

I am a regular but have name changed for this one.

I am referring to my ladygarden (or wild bush as it was formerly). I had a moment of madness at the weekend and rather than my usual tidy up with the electric trimmer I decided to get the gillete and take it all off - now I am so uncomfortable - its gone all spotty and itchy and stubbly!!

Any ideas on soothing the spots and itchiness at least? I have been putting a bit of sudocreme on morning and night but not helping!

A bit of talc?? Next time (if there is a next time) shave in direction of growth only. Cuts down on scratchiness! Its making me itch just thinking about it....

What were you thinking?

itchyandstubbly · 23/10/2007 22:14

Sorry to sound daft - it grows down and i shaved up the way - was that wrong? Thought that was the right way to do it. I must sound so stupid. DP suggested talc but I thought he was being daft - will go try that now.

JARM · 23/10/2007 22:16

shave down the way..... and sudocreme for the time being.

i get DH to do mine (im 35wks pg) and i never get itchy or sore when he does it!

itchyandstubbly · 23/10/2007 22:22

I must admit this isnt the 1st time I have stupidly done this - I did it once before and instantly regretted it then too! mayb i will learn this time!! If i remember right it itched for ages while it was growing back in. I only did it on Sunday and very stubbly already! It is awful. I should really let it come in slightly and go for a wax but never had down there done before so would be very and oh the pain!

nappynuttynormabutty · 23/10/2007 22:26

Get it waxed next time, it really doesn't hurt that much.

itchyandstubbly · 23/10/2007 22:35

home wax? cream?

dinny · 23/10/2007 22:37

have beautician friend and she swears by rubbing Savlon all over after waxing if sore, so think it'd be useful for you atm!

ivykaty44 · 23/10/2007 22:41

Use a hair removal cream and exfoliate loads, with the hair removal it shouldn't itch when growing back and the exfoliating (with a brush or one of the funny ragged sponges) keeps the spots away and things nice and smooth....

itchyandstubbly · 23/10/2007 22:43

sure i have savlon somewhere will go hunt it out. i really dont know what made me do it - poss to do with fact i was still hakf cut from sat night!! lol

sorry im laughing!
i have done this once before and never again dp wouldnt come near me during re growth as he didnt want to be bristilled!
i stick to hair removal creams now!

LoveAndSqualor · 24/10/2007 14:57

Right: this happened to me, less dramatically (tidy-up wax, but bad reaction as pregnant, apparently) and I am still dealing with the fall-out (or grown-in, more accurately). Have finally found the Product of Joy to counter itching/spottiness/so forth. It is called Tend Skin, and you can buy it here. £11.95 and totally worth every penny, IMO.

POTC · 24/10/2007 15:01

the more times you do it the less it itches, been doing it for years and don't notice it at all now

Blondilocks · 28/10/2007 20:38

I think it also depends on the underwear u have on too .... looser stuff tends to itch less & also if the elastic is on the shaved area that makes it itch more too.

Do agree it itches less each time, but the regrowth is a pain .... am psyching myself up for waxing but am scared!
