What stuff are you dying to have a reason to wear?!

I don’t normally splurge but last Feb I bought 2 pairs of boots. One smart for work and one fun for going out ( green snakeskin !) Then bastard coronavirus came along and I’ve never been able to wear them!

Also my coated skinny jeans, and 2 new dresses. I know I could wear them around the house but it’s no fun if nobody can see how lovely they are. DH is no good...everything is “ nice”.

What are you desperate to wear?

I wear my coated skinny jeans pretty often. They're great in the rain!Grin I decided I needed to keep up my walking so wet weather wear is important!

For me, it's dresses and skirts. I only really wear them for special occasions. Cold and having to wear tights with them in the winter and having to wear more suncream to cover my legs in the summer means I end up not bothering.

I bought a black and gold patterned silk jumpsuit from H&M, it's very floaty and flattering, really lovely. I loved the print and couldn't resist it. But it's the kind of thing you would only really wear to a very fancy wedding or evening do. I don't even have any shoes posh enough for it!

But I've been in the position before where I didn't have anything really nice to wear to a glam event and felt underdressed, so at least now I have it ready. But I really want the event to come along now (and be allowed obviously)...

Well mostly I wear things anyway even though I’m WFH and share my outfits with MN here.

But I haven’t been wearing any of my heels. And most of my jackets have remained firmly in my wardrobe.

On the other hand, I’m actually missing some of my boots which I left in my office in March and don’t have access to (because I didn’t expect enforced 100% WFH to last this long - 9 months and no sign of going back on the horizon).

MrsGrindah · 15/12/2020 19:44

Yes I’m trying to say to myself that I will have a lovely “new wardrobe “ when this is all over. If I can keep the weight off!

A sparkly Xmas dress I bought in the summer

Ghostlyglow · 15/12/2020 19:54

I'm just wearing all my stuff. What's the point waiting - by the way DP looks at me some mornings I suspect he thinks I've gone slightly mad Wink

Haven't worn my gorgeous long slouchy suede boots at all yet this year Sad

I'd love to have a reason to wear expensive perfume again - might have to start wearing it out to do the supermarket shop Grin

My friend in Shanghai made me a jacket for my birthday...he is a tailor....tracking info says it should be with me in a few days...its a sort of military style in black...no idea where and when I could wear it but looking forward anyway...!!

Go ahead...friend bought me a louis vuitton fragrance recently...its lovely and lasts all day so i have a squirt before going out to the shops !

I've made a new discovery - this year's flowy dresses, especially the ones with a bit of sparkle, make great lounge wear Grin

HerselfIndoors · 15/12/2020 23:49

I do wear my nice perfume at home - I mainly like perfume because of how different smells affect my mood, so it's actually been a positive thing for me during lockdown.

CardiCorgi · 16/12/2020 13:10

A swimsuit, ice skates, ski suit (not all at once), I’m missing my favourite sports more than going out.
On the S&B front, DH and I have having “dinner out”, at home this weekend, so there will be a nice outfit and makeup, just because I can.

MrsGrindah · 16/12/2020 14:58

@CardiCorgi Love the image of you wearing all that at once, sat in front of the TV watching Strictly!

Grin Tempting.

Yes, to all the perfume wearers, I think we all deserve nice smells.

Sooverthemill · 16/12/2020 21:12

I wear all my stuff regardless but I leave the house infrequently even pre Covid . I decided years ago that even though I can't leave the house ( I look after a very sick DD) I will wear stuff that cheers me. The things I miss wearing are outdoor boots eg my grensons or black patent heeled boots and my coats! I have some very nice coats indeed. I wear trainers pretty much every day or loafers in the house. I only wear dresses in the summer as I can't work out winter footwear with dresses and I refuse to wear tights . In the summer it's shirts or dresses every day.

Mosaic123 · 16/12/2020 21:19

Thinking we were going to three weddings in Summer 2020 I bought I fabulous dress from Bombshell. I've now lost just over a stone and might need to get it taken in. We may not be invited to those weddings as the participants have rebooked and not be sure if we will still be invited.

Oly4 · 16/12/2020 21:33

All my going out things, best sandals and actually needing a reason to wear make up. I’ve had a bit of a jolt this year though and realised I buy far too many clothes

Floisme · 16/12/2020 21:42

I've carried on wearing clothes I like but I do miss my Margaret Howell wool blazer. I used to wear it with jeans whenever I had to go to a work event where I didn't know if people would be smart or casual. Annoyingly by the time work opens up again I'll probably either have been kicked out or I'll be close to retirement, so I'm starting to wonder when I'll have a chance to wear it again. It's too cold now to wear as an outdoor jacket but too warm for spring or summer. I've tried just wearing it around the house but feel a bit of a nob.

TheChosenTwo · 16/12/2020 22:08

I have a long gold pleated skirt which is gorgeous and festive - haven’t worn it yet, bought in the January sales last year from either whistles or reiss, can’t remember where now but it’s so gorgeous! I never dress up at Christmas but I will do this year just to get the use of it.
