what winter shoes with skinny jeans?

This will be my first winter in skinny jeans.. I can no longer resist their (albeit dubious) allure.. so I've happily worn them all summer with flip flops or those plimsoll-y type shoes but now am going to London and don't know what to put on my feet so I don't look like a golf club... any suggestions?

ok I'm checking out the uggs..maaan first I give in on the skinny jeans and now uggs. I can't even contemplate where this could all end.

do you think they tend to size big or small? If I get some I'd probably do it over the net and I'm a 5/6 depending on the shoe.
