Space NK 2020 Advent Calendar Thread

Hi,

I normally get the M&S calendar but went for the Beauty Anthology II from Space NK this year. Would be great to share the openings, discuss the products and do any swaps with anyone else with this one.

Please only discuss current day or previous days to avoid spoilers for people

I think it is fair to say you can post about the current day from 7am so people know to avoid the thread after that time if they haven’t opened yet.

@Puffler same here, I missed the M&S one not being available and went for a massive upgrade to Space NK. Hoping it will be a big treat as I feel I need it this year!

I am pretty new to skin care etc so hoping others on this thread will be able to tell me how to use each product 🤣

Joining! Very excited for tomorrow. I spent so long deciding which calendar to get and examining the contents of them all that I've almost totally forgotten what's in this one.

Agree that 7am is a good time to start talking about each day.

I got this as a birthday present but didn’t actually get given it till this evening so I’ve just been admiring it. Excited for tomorrow.

It's a HG product for me for day 1. I have full size and I didn't exactly need travel size but hopefully we will be able to start travel again and it will be used

I got Paulas Choice BHA liquid. I’m happy & I’ll use it when my Dennis Gross wipes run out.

Haven't tried Paula's choice yet so pleased with this.

I've nearly got to the bottom of The Ordinary niacinamide and sounds like this does a similar thing so pleased I can start using it soon.

I may not have spelt that The Ordinary product right!

I have used the travel size and as you need so little it lasts few months. It's great if you have any pores issues and best used around that area only. It's bit different than DDG as they are more general resurfacing vs PC BHA is targeting pores. It's great start!

I have had this before - was it in the M&S one last year? It’s good and I’ll use it but as a first one it felt pretty small in a big box! I always like a first day wow product but I do like this!

Happy with today as it is a great product I have used before and like but hoping for something new to try tomorrow!

I am not fan of today's product and gave it away. It doesn't suit my skin. Acids & citrus oils are too much for my skin to handle in one product

but it is very popular and loved product

Ahh I’m happy with today’s as it is something I use regularly and works for me. Although as it is a regular item I buy it doesn’t feel like a treat!

I like this Ren product & will use it.
Two similar things in 2 days though!
I need a mascara & a face cleanser as I’m running out 🤞🏻

The Ren glow toner is great. When I was researching calendars I think this was one of the reasons I picked Space NK (I've successfully forgotten nearly all the research!)

And since I only moisturise at night at the moment I can start using it straight away ☺️

I don't think they are too similar, one is general resurfacing one is targeted for pores I think

I usually get the Look Fantastic advent calendar but decided against after I had a bit of a row with them about my subscriber discount code. I really wanted the Cult Beauty one but missed out, so went for this instead.

I'm impressed so far and will use both of these. I've not peeked at all, as it was so expensive I wanted it to be a surprise. I'm hoping for some really nice new beauty finds.

@Offredismysister I agree they're a bit similar for day 1 and 2. Both exfoliants and you wouldn't really want to use both at the same time. I did notice that the first 'page' of the book is called pre-party skincare, didn't realise that when I ordered. I like skincare but I find cosmetics more fun, like wow I want to try it now, in a way I don't get with skincare. Would have preferred more of a mix for week 1 but that's my fault for not looking before I ordered. Still happy with the products!

I tend to use BHA in the morning as it works well with my moning serum - vit c and only around my nose/cheeks where i have enlarged pores. I don't use other acids often but when I do I use them at night. I wouldn't use both in the same time as they are both actives but they are very different to me. But yes too much exfoliants is not good thing at all

When you say best not to use them both at the same time, do you mean finish one product before you start the other?

Or could I use one in the morning and one in the evening?

I do keep trying to do my own research but it's quite confusing! Any help appreciated, thanks!

Lovely item for day 3 but most beauty junkies and people who buy advents already have it. I have few and I passed it on to friend of mine

Today's item (Eve Kim cleansing oil capsules and travel case) mostly made me sad I can't travel at the moment

I haven't got these, so excited to try them as it's the kind of thing I wouldn't buy myself. Here's hoping it will be easier to get away in 2021 as the vaccines start to kick in...

Not too keen on it but it will be used when we travel.

I like Eve Lom & have never tried these capsules.
I’m really looking forward to using them tonight.

How do you use them? Do you just rub it on your face? I’m a capsule novice!
