Space NK 2020 Advent Calendar Thread

Hi,

I normally get the M&S calendar but went for the Beauty Anthology II from Space NK this year. Would be great to share the openings, discuss the products and do any swaps with anyone else with this one.

Please only discuss current day or previous days to avoid spoilers for people

I think it is fair to say you can post about the current day from 7am so people know to avoid the thread after that time if they haven’t opened yet.

Looking forward to this!

I used the face tan from last year same brand and I am feeling the glow! It's lovely. I only remembered due to the glowing reviews of this year's body version so thanks for that.

I have not used the shimmery shade as much as the rest and the few times I used it, it was in the middle of the eye lid. I will try it as base as it is in the video tomorrow!

There were good few products that didn't work for me in this advent for one reason or another, mainly as I already have them but I enjoyed passing them on. I think it's really fantastic, great sizes and the boxes look so bright & joyful.

it is from last year advent, I just have not used it yet. But the body tan seem to be working well as face tan too judging by the reports by others.

I applied the Tan-Luxe too my face & body last night. Doesn't smell as strong as st tropez any the results are good (although I'll need to look closer once it's daylight). Loving all the YouTube tutorials, I might get the lilac / purple eyeshadow palette.

I tried the hair mask. It was ok but I have quite fine hair and had to wash it the next day - certainly not 'spray and go' for me!

I am having to lay off the products as I've got a bit of eczema on my eyelid. Just hoping it's not a reaction to something I've used Sad Fingers crossed it clears up by the weekend so I can use the eyeshadow on my trip to the pub!

I wasn’t wowed by the hair mask but it smelt lovely. Today’s doesn’t suit me (have tried it in the past) but my 14yr old will love it!

Haven't used the IGK hair mask yet, might try it tomorrow as I'm WFH Friday so if my hair looks awful it won't matter! I'll let you know how I get on. Good to hear the liquid eyeshadow looks nice, I'll probably try that out this weekend.

Pleased with CT Pillow Talk today. Very tiny but good enough size to try out. I've never tried this, I've never been big on lipstick but I'm trying to use it more cos I feel more put together with it on. Most people who are into makeup have probably used this at some point though so not sure how the rest of you are feeling about it?

It's tiny but lovely on and it feels pigmented enough but not drying. I find a lot of matte lipsticks very drying

I am happy with it. I wish it's little bigger but you can't have everything full size

I've got a full sized version of today's already which I love but this will be great to shove in a tiny handbag should we ever be allowed on night's out ever again Grin

I have extensions so always on the look out for nourishing hair oils / creams. I liked the smell of the hairspray mask and that I didn't need to wash it out in the morning.

I used the hair spray mask and I liked it. It feels like my hair felt softer and nice the next morning when often it feels quite tangled. I don’t know how much of this was a placebo effect though, so will need to use a few more times to see.

I was excited by today’s product, have always wanted to buy this but I have so many lipsticks already. I feel like lipstick lasts so long that it will be a good size to know if I’d want to purchase full size or not.

Today’s is going in the swaps pile.
I’m sure I read somewhere that pillow talk is meant to suit everyone. I got MAC twig in an advent calendar last year & it’s a very similar colour. It will 100% make me look like a corpse.

I’ve tried the dry shampoo this evening, and love the smell!
I’m fact I love it so much I’d love a perfume that smells similar...
Anyone have an idea of what might smell the same?

I was excited when I opened today’s. I’m impressed with the size & have wanted to try this brand for ages. It’s a bit of a shame that it’s a night cream as the drunk elephant is for night use, so a day cream would’ve been nice.

It's one of the big items in the advent but I already use prescription strength tretinoin (form of vitamin a) and I can't use other retinol creams on my face. I will have to repurpose it as neck/bellow cream. I love the fragrance, it's very refreshing. However I avoid fragrance on my face

I knew the content before I purchased the advent and I knew that one of the star products is not for me but I do think its fantastic to include full size, popular product with both vitamin a and vitamin c - ingredients proven to be beneficial for the skin. Just it doesn't fit in my skin care routine to get the full benefit of it

I’m chuffed to bits with today’s! Hadn’t really clocked the size of it when I checked out the contents. I normally use vitamin c in the morning snd retinol at night... do I ditch the morning C?

I would use it in the evening instead of your retinol and keep the vit c in the morning

Generally dermatologists advise against retinols in the morning but some specialists say it's fine.

I really am a skincare novice though. How do people know so much?

Just what I was thinking, @Puppermint. I just slap it on randomly too. I'm lucky to have fairly well behaved skin so I've never had it fight back yet.

Me too, that's the reason I got this calendar and it really is opening for me a whole new world of skincare !
